Slice of History: Set Sail with Pizza and Mini-Golf

Join the Museum as we celebrate <a href="https://www.thecivicseason.com/">Civic Season</a>! Celebrate Civic Season at the Museum with mini-golf and pizza! Fuel up with pizza provided by the USS Constitution Museum before you compete in a mini-golf tournament. Putt your way through history on our themed mini-golf course and step inside the Museum to enjoy our galleries after-hours. Slice of History events are designed for young adults, particularly those ages 18-30, seeking enlightenment or socialization. We Remember: Memorial Day at the USS Constitution Museum

Join the Museum in honoring those who gave their lives in service to our country. Celebrate Memorial Day at the USS Constitution Museum this month. Activities throughout the day will recognize the service and sacrifice of our military community. Starting Armed Services Day, Saturday, May 17, all active-duty service members and their families receive complimentary admission to the Museum as part of the Blue Star Museums program. Blue Star Museums is a partnership between the National Endowment for the Arts and Blue Star Families, in collaboration with the Department of Defense and museums across America. Willow Tree Tribute May 1 – May 31 9:30 am – 5:00 pm This month, Museum visitors are encouraged to make a leaf to be placed on our Willow Tree in tribute to a fallen USS Constitution service member and share why celebrating Memorial Day is important to them. Willow trees can be rooted from cuttings with ease, and are seen as survivors and a symbol of rebirth. This activity is available to all Museum visitors during <a href="https://ussconstitutionmuseum.org/visit/museum-ship/plan-your-visit/">operating hours</a> until Saturday, May 31. Make a Patriotic Flag Pin Saturday, May 24- Monday, May 26 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM Create a flag pin out of beads with options that are friendly for all ages. A symbolic way to remember our fallen service members and the freedoms they were defending. Free with admission by donation at the Museum, while supplies last (no registration required). Taps Across America May 26 3:00 PM At 3:00 pm, the Museum will pause with National Parks of Boston and USS Constitution for a duration of one minute in silence as taps will sound at Charlestown Navy Yard flagpole. We invite you to join us in this <a href="https://www.tapsacrossamerica.org/">national moment of remembrance</a> as Americans remember those who died in military service.

This April, the USS Constitution Museum honors Paul Revere—the midnight rider and master craftsman—250 years after his legendary ride. From sounding the alarm for revolution to forging copper for USS Constitution, Revere’s impact on America endures. Join us for hands-on workshops, a lantern-making event, and an expert talk that bring his story to life. Whether you’re crafting embossed copper art, welcoming Revere’s arrival by lamplight, or diving into the history of his midnight ride, there’s something for everyone. USS Constitution Museum Scout Day!

Calling all Scouts! Join us in the Charlestown Navy Yard for Scout Day–a special day of activities just for Scouting America Scouts and Girl Scouts. Scouts will learn about life at sea in 1812 and life in the Navy today, all while meeting some requirements for scout rank advancement badges. Girl Scout Juniors – register to complete your Playing The Past badge! Explore the Museum and Ship as you stop at different activity stations throughout the Navy Yard. There will be something for all ages, so come as a scout, a family, or as a troop! All registered scouts will receive a special America 250 USS Constitution Museum Scout Day patch. Activities include:<ul><li>Tour USS Constitution, a national landmark. Don’t forget to bring your troop’s American flag to fly on board and fold with a Navy crew member.</li><li>Build and race your own ship out of household materials in our Raingutter Regatta™.</li><li>Join in knot-tying and 1812 sailor games.</li><li>Express your creativity at our maker station! Make a copper bell mobile to take home with you.</li><li>Participate in a mock 1812 gun drill with your troop.</li><li>Meet USS Constitution’s active-duty Navy crew.</li><li>Write a letter of encouragement to a new Navy recruit in boot camp.</li><li>Build a LEGO® replica of USS Constitution, USS Nantucket, or USS Cassin Young.</li></ul><img src="https://ussconstitutionmuseum.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/p-girl-scout-flag-folding-300x225.jpg"> A full list of activities and related badge requirements is coming soon. Please note, the Museum will provide evidence of completed activities. Nautical Maker Series Visit the Museum the 2nd Saturday of each month to take part in our Nautical Maker Series activities! We provide the materials to create a one-of-a-kind souvenir, all you have to bring is the creativity!!&nbsp;Please see below for our upcoming schedule (subject to change). Activity:&nbsp;Sailor’s Valentine Date:&nbsp;Saturday, February 8th Times:&nbsp;Workshop 1 (11:00 am- 12:15 pm) &amp; Workshop 2 (1:30 pm- 2:45 pm) Price:&nbsp;$10.00 per kit These works of art are made by arranging small seashells in a symmetrical pattern, commonly in an octagonal box. They were a popular souvenir purchased by sailors for their sweethearts back home and often featured a symbol of love at the center. While the name suggests that the sailors created these themselves, most were created and purchased on the island of Barbados. Registration for the workshop is recommended.&nbsp;Walk-in registration is dependent on remaining supply inventory. Holiday Nautical Maker Activity: Holiday Snow Globes  Friday, December 27th &amp; Saturday, December 28th: 11:00 am- 4:00 pm Join us to create a take-home piece of art with nautical flair. Activity kits are $5.00/ kit. Java Victory Day Sunday, December 29th: 11:00 am- 3:00 pm Come to the Museum and discover the details about Constitution’s victory over HMS Java on December 29, 1812. Explore the Museum’s galleries and add your own flair to paintings of the battle!

Veterans Day Weekend at the USS Constitution Museum

Join us in recognizing the service of veterans and their families.  Throughout Veterans Day Weekend at the Museum, we’ll be giving a token of our gratitude to each veteran visitor, offering special veterans-only tours of the Ship, inviting military families to visit with free admission, providing maker activities, and hosting a write-a-thon to collect letters of gratitude for the veteran community. USS Constitution Tours for Veterans Sunday, November 10 at 11:00am Monday, November 11 at 2:00pm We’re offering two special, behind-the-scenes tours of USS Constitution just for veterans during Veterans Day weekend. All veteran participants will receive a special gift from the Museum: a U.S. flag flown aboard “Old Ironsides.” Guests will need to use ladder-wells to travel between decks of the historic Ship. Tours are approximately 1 hour long. Please note, this is a guided tour of the Ship, not an underway cruise.
