The Lost Cache — A Special Screening and Filmmaker Conversation

What if something thought to be lost for more than 80 years is still waiting beneath the ice? In 1937, legendary mountaineer, photographer, and cartographer Bradford Washburn made the first ascent of Mount Lucania, one of the great feats of early North American mountaineering. Forced to abandon a cache of equipment on the Walsh Glacier—including his beloved Fairchild F-8 aerial camera—Washburn always hoped to return. But the glacier had other plans. More than eight decades later, skier Griffin Post, glaciologist Dora Medrzycka, and a team of skiers, scientists, and explorers venture deep into the remote Yukon to find out whether Washburn’s lost treasures might still be there. The Lost Cache is more than a search for forgotten gear. It’s a story about curiosity, obsession, risk, discovery, and the questions that can endure across generations. As the team navigates a landscape shaped by constantly moving glaciers and a changing climate, the improbable begins to feel just possible. Join for a special screening of this forthcoming documentary—presented in the very place where this remarkable story is connected to the Museum’s own history—followed by a conversation with the director and filmmaking team. Limit 8 tickets per transaction.

Field notes and recordings from expert eco-scientists guide the journey while the audience experiences cutting-edge immersive technology never before seen in the US. Featuring the dazzling vocals of Eliza Bagg of the Grammy Award-winning ensemble, Roomful of Teeth, Nick Ryan, Emmy and BAFTA Winner, designs the sound, while David Bengali, Tony Nominee, constructs the visuals, and Kay Matschullat directs. Connect deeply with the living Earth and harness a new future to protect it. It's learnable. And we can show you how. Join The AI Collective Group and the Museum of Science for two hours of real, hands-on AI learning with expert instructors in person, at one of Boston's most trusted institutions, surrounded by people who showed up for the same reason you did. The AI Collective Group has guided over 200 students through in-person, hands-on AI learning. They know the material and they know how to make it land. This is not a webinar or a panel. AI and the Future of Cancer Treatments - A Reno Family Foundation Symposium

Sophia Shalhout, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Harvard Medical School and a Principal Investigator at the Mike Toth Cancer Research Center at Mass Eye and Ear. Her groundbreaking research applies AI and big data analytics to complex biomedical data, with the goal of advancing personalized medicine for high-risk cancer patients. Dr. Shalhout’s work goes beyond improving individual treatment plans- she is also using AI to accelerate the discovery of new therapies that target some of the most challenging, traditionally "undruggable" cancer proteins. By optimizing molecular interactions and drug-like properties, her approach merges computational biology with lab-based validation, opening doors to entirely new treatment options for deadly cancers. Through presentation and conversation, Dr. Shalhout will share how these powerful technologies are reshaping the landscape of cancer care- from precision medicine to faster, smarter drug development. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear firsthand from one of the leading minds at the intersection of AI and oncology- where innovation meets impact.

Science and Spirituality: A Public Dialogue at the Museum of Science

Join us for an evening of curiosity, dialogue, and discovery as we explore the dynamic relationship between science, spirituality, faith traditions, and the ways people make meaning across different perspectives. The night will open with a lively panel featuring youth, leaders, and scholars sharing how these ideas shape their lives, communities, and work. From there, the evening becomes yours to explore. Move through a series of breakout experiences designed to spark conversation, creativity, and reflection:

Gather around the table for small-group discussions that dig into real experiences of science and spirituality - where they connect, where they diverge, and what that means in everyday life.

Connect with others on the real questions and topics emerging in your communities; what people are talking about, wondering about, and trying to make sense of in everyday life.

Get hands-on with interactive activities that invite you to imagine how science and faith might come together, alongside lived experience and other ways of knowing, to shape a better world and hopeful future.

Take a moment for yourself in a quiet reflection space to consider how these questions show up in your own story.

At the heart of it all is one guiding question: "Where can science and spirituality intersect as we respond to the challenges facing our society right now?" Whether you come with firm beliefs, open questions, or simply curiosity, this evening offers a space to listen deeply, reflect honestly, and connect across perspectives. Dessert, coffee, and refreshments will be available throughout the evening. Guests may wish to make dinner plans before or after this event.
