Nature Sings: A Sonic Revival Live

Don’t miss the opening night performance featuring actor, author, and activist Ashley Judd who will introduce the debut performance and moderate a brief conversation with scientists and artists afterward. A 21st century Odyssey – the world premiere live performance of Nature Sings: A Sonic Revival dares you to dive into the arctic waters with the humpback whales, swing through the rainforests of Borneo with the orangutans, and sail through the skies of Southern India with countless birds. Sound, music, image, and science guide the audience through a visceral experience of habitat until we feel it as home. Field notes and recordings from expert eco-scientists guide the journey while the audience experiences cutting-edge immersive technology never before seen in the US. Featuring the dazzling vocals of Eliza Bagg of the Grammy Award-winning ensemble, Roomful of Teeth, Nick Ryan, Emmy and BAFTA Winner, designs the sound, while David Bengali, Tony Nominee, constructs the visuals, and Kay Matschullat directs. Connect deeply with the living Earth and harness a new future to protect it. MAXlive and the MAXmachina laboratory program are supported in part by the Simons Foundation’s Science, Society, and Culture Initiative, the Ettinger Foundation, public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature. This program is also supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the city council. Additional support from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation/EST, and the generous support of our individual donors. Nature Sings: A Sonic Revival is in part supported by a commission from the Museum of Science, Boston.
