JuanMa Calderón and Maria Rondeau, the duo behind New England's acclaimed Celeste, La Royal and Esmeralda, open Rosa y Marigold, their first Boston-proper restaurant at the city’s new Lyrik Back Bay development. The name is an ode to Marigold and Rose, the 2022 novel and final work of the pair's late friend and devoted Celeste regular, poet Louise Glück.The Nobel and Pulitzer prize winner’s supportive spirit and command of the written word brought a spark to their restaurant family, and will now live on at Rosa y Marigold. About Avra The story of Avra starts in the coastal Greek village of Nafpaktos where our cofounder Nick Tsoulos was born and brought up. Nick, his father and uncles would regularly fish for local seafood such as fagri, dorado, octopus and red mullet.  They feasted on what they caught over long and relaxed family dinners.  “We would either grill the fish over charcoals or slice it thin and drizzle it with olive oil from our family farm, lemon and salt,” recalls Tsoulos. “Along with the fish, we ate salads made with produce from our garden, spinach pies and other hot dishes that my grandmother cooked. The adults also drank plenty of great local wine.” Tsoulos never forgot these beloved culinary traditions when his family immigrated to Astoria, in Queens, New York. After opening several restaurants including a Greek taverna on Manhattan’s Upper East Side in 1990 called Trata, he was inspired to create a spot where he could bring a taste of Nafpaktos to New York. “There was nothing like it out here- simple Greek dishes made with the best ingredients and incredibly fresh seafood,” he says.   Avra brings that vision to fruition. In collaboration with Marc Packer and Nick Pashalis, the first location opened in 2000 on East 48th Street in Midtown East. After 16 years of continued success and a loyal following, a second Avra debuted on East 60th Street and instantly became a go-to for titans of industry and celebrities. Today, AVRA’s footprint spans Beverly Hills, Miami, Dallas, and New York—at Rockefeller Center and 33rd &amp; 9th—with Boston joining in 2026. As we marked our 25th anniversary in 2025, AVRA remains a destination — some might say the destination — to enjoy beautifully prepared Greek cuisine and a great time.

Brooks Running x George Howell limited-edition 'Mile Marker' is available only at George Howell at Lyrik Back Bay from Thu, April 16 to Mon, April 20.   In celebration of Marathon Weekend, George Howell Coffee has teamed up with Brooks Running to debut the limited-edition 'Mile Marker,' a frozen orange coffee creamsicle inspired by George's legendary 'The Original,' the very Frappuccino recipe he created before selling it to Starbucks. Refreshing and indulgent, the Mile Marker features creamy citrus, frozen coffee with milk and sugar, orange-infused whipped cream, and a chocolate cookie crumble. Marathon runners also receive 10% off drinks at all George Howell Coffee cafés when showing proof of registration during race weekend, April 18–20.

Sparkling wine is non-negotiable on Marathon Monday, and there’s no place better to dive into a glass or two than Bubble Bath in Back Bay. Little Groove music classes are designed to help infants, toddlers and preschoolers learn and interact through sound, sight, and touch in a live music setting. Children enjoy being a part of the musical experience, using their bodies and voices to sing along to energetic songs that help them build important motor and social skills. Drawing inspiration from the world around her, Ashley will guide you in creating cheeky and irreverent pieces that add movement and fun to your artwork. The workshops are free to attend, supplies will be provided, and operate on a first come, first served basis. You can sign up for the next class every Monday around 5 pm when the slots open up (4-5pm, 5-6pm, or 6-7pm). Additionally, there will be a sign-up sheet to participate on site starting at 3:30pm.
