In recent years, we have witnessed remarkable material and technological progress, yet this has not been matched by a corresponding increase in human happiness or inner peace. Many of us still experience worry, anxiety, and uncertainty about the future. In this three-week series, we will explore practical mindfulness methods, helpful ways of thinking, and guided meditations drawn from Buddha’s teachings. These classes are designed to help us become calmer, more resilient, and increasingly fearless in the face of adversity and life’s uncertainties. Healing the Heart: Nyungnay Purifying Ritual Practice April 14 &amp; 15 In celebration of Buddha’s Enlightenment Day, Kadampa Centers around the world engage in a very special retreat for healing the heart and awakening our compassionate Buddha nature. Wrapped within the practice of Mahayana Precepts, the Nyungnay Ritual Practice involves fasting and making three sessions of prostrations in conjunction with prayers. Thousand-Armed (eleven-faced) Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha of Compassion. It is very powerful for purifying negative karma, pacifying strong delusions, receiving blessings, and increasing our love, compassion and bodhichitta. Schedule for each day: Session 1: 6:30-8:30am (includes Mahayana Precepts) Session 2: 11:00am–12:15pm Session 3: 4:00-5:30pm It is necessary to attend the first session in order to join in other sessions during the day.
