Enjoy a concert of wonderful Irish music with fiddler Laurel Martin and multi-instrumentalist Mark Roberts. Laurel’s lyrical fiddle playing is nuanced, sweet, and true to tradition. Mark Roberts’ flute and whistle playing is featured in the soundtrack to John Sayles’s film The Secret of Roan Inish. Join them for an evening filled with the joyful spirit of traditional music! Family Photo Sessions

Have your holiday photos taken at Gore Place! Our professional photographer will photograph your family in an exclusive photo session at our beautiful estate. This event is a fundraiser for Gore Place, providing critical support for the museum and farm’s day-to-day operations. This event takes place rain or shine. In the case of inclement weather, we will photograph your group inside our 1806 Mansion. Each session is $300 per group (which includes a $225 session fee and a $75 donation to Gore Place). Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by IRS regulations. What’s Included: A photo session by a professional photographer on location at Gore Place Space for up to 10 people. A minimum of 10 unedited high-resolution digital photo files will be emailed to you in a private online gallery Refund Policy: The $225 session fee is non-refundable. Join a tour of the beautiful 1806 Gore Mansion. You’ll hear creepy stories from Gore Place's rich history: tales of lady pirates, escapees, drownings, and strange goings on over the 300 years of the Gore estate. Along the way you'll see the mansion in a new (and slightly creepy!)&nbsp;light.

Concerts in the Carriage House: New England Irish Harp Orchestra

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 29 @ 7:00 PM The Irish harp is the original instrument of Irish traditional music and has a beautiful, etheric quality. This wonderful group of harpers, fiddlers, flutists, and singers performs traditional Irish tunes. The group is led by Regina Delaney, an Irish harper, singer, and dancer. Adam Hendey Carriage House Concert

A graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Boston-based, multi-instrumentalist, singer, composer Adam Hendey has become one of the region’s most sought-after musical collaborators. Adam will take center stage with a program of beautiful traditional songs. Concert takes place in the 1793 Carriage House at Gore Place. Parking is free.

John Muratore Holiday Concert

Acclaimed guitarist John Muratore will perform a special holiday program in the beautiful 1793 Carriage House at Gore Place. The Boston Globe has called John's playing "...aural iridescence..." and the Boston Musical Intelligencer has called him "one of greater Boston’s most gifted guitar virtuosos." $21 General Admission, $19 Members, $5 Card to CulturParking is free.

Chamber Music in the Mansion

Christopher and Rebecca Gore were patrons of culture and the arts. They were early supporters of some of Boston's nascent arts institutions, such as the Handel and Haydn Society. This autumn we are bringing the music of the Gores back to their Mansion. A chamber trio will&nbsp;perform the music of the time on&nbsp;violin, cello and our 1821 Broadwood grand piano. In the early 19th century, Broadwood and Sons was the most important piano maker in England. Our Broadwood&nbsp;is very similar to one that was presented to Beethoven in 1818. It remained one of the composer's most cherished possessions for the rest of his&nbsp;life. Join us for a concert of chamber music where we welcome: Guy Fishman D.M.A. Principal Cellist, The Handel &amp;&nbsp;Haydn Society Faculty,&nbsp;New England Conservatory of Music; Renée Hemsing, Violinist/Violist Co-chair of Early Music at New England Conservatory Prep; Ian Watson, Principal Keyboardist and Associate Conductor, The Handel &amp;&nbsp;Haydn Society. Pottery Pumpkin Carving

Saturday, September 27 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Just in time for the Halloween season, Gore Place will be hosting a pumpkin carving workshop – carving out of clay, that is! Come create a jack-o-lantern that will last forever! Participants will select a pre-thrown clay pumpkin to work on during the class. After the workshop is complete, Tracy will bring the jack-o-lanterns back to her studio to fire; she will deliver them to Gore Place within three weeks; at which point, you can come pick them up. This workshop is part of our Traditional Skills series and is only open to teens and adults. All materials will be provided. Space is limited, so make sure to reserve your spot!

Living in the Dark

What was life like before the electric light?&nbsp;Find out on an evening visit to the 1806 mansion at Gore Place. You’ll see the graceful Great Stairs, the lovely Oval Withdrawing Room, the Peacock Parlor, the Great Hall, bed chambers, sitting rooms, and more. Along the way, your guide will tell stories about living by candlelight and point out the many devices used to light the house in the early 1800s. The style and quality of the furnishings, the many Boston-built pieces, and the personal touches make this one of New England’s best historic house tours.

Farm to Table Dinner

Come celebrate the Farm at Gore Place and the end of the summer season! Gather with guests from across Greater Boston for a seasonal, chef-curated meal celebrating local agriculture, sustainability, and community. The evening will begin with cocktails and appetizers in our Barn then will move to the North Lawn for dinner al fresco. The meal will include a range of farm fresh dishes, including salad, local cheese, grilled leg of lamb, and charred eggplant gnocchi. Dinner will be supervised by Chef Ian Davey of <a href="https://www.firesidecatering.com/">Fireside Catering</a>. Chef Davey formalized his culinary education at the world-renowned Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. He joined Webber Restaurant Group in 2019 as Executive Chef of Fireside Catering. In 2022, Ian was promoted to Culinary Director, overseeing the culinary teams at Fireside Catering, The Barn at Gibbet Hill, Gibbet Hill Grill, and The Double Bull.

Come on down to the Farm at Gore Place for some sudsy fun! Kids will get to try their hand at washing their socks, using historical tools, like washboards and a hand-wringing machine.
