Opening Reception: A Lens Full of Light, photographs by Gretchen Ann Graham and Julián Cancino

Exhibition dates: March 28 - April 25, 2025 Gallery hours: Saturdays, 12-4 or by appointment ﻿A Lens Full of Light, a new dual exhibition by photographers Gretchen Ann Graham and Julián Cancino, explores the profound connections that shape life across generations. Connecting these two collections as well are the names of the photographers’ subjects, Helen and Eleni. Both names translate to “light” and “the bright one.” This exhibit will feature both digital and silver gelatin prints, with several works on view for the first time.   “My daughter has changed my life, and through photography I can capture and cherish that transformation,” says Julián Cancino. “This exhibition reminds me of the quiet power of simply being present.”   “Photographing my Aunt Helen and her five children continuously for the past 25 years has been a privilege,” says Gretchen Graham. “Witnessing and visually transcribing my cousins growing into full adulthood and raising their own families has deepened the meaning for me of what it means to try to transcribe the truth of a person in fractions of a second over time: it’s as much a responsibility to them as well as my expression of love for them.”

Opening Reception: "In Fertility," Mixed Media Works by Valerie Imparato

Valerie Imparato’s mixed media work chronicles her journey with infertility and in vitro fertilization (IVF). This series explores themes of isolation, repetition, and the inception of life. Using a variety of materials from embroidery to resin, to hospital gowns, Imparato highlights the lengths to which women will go to have children, often to the detriment of their own physical and mental health. In this exhibition, Imparato leads with vulnerability, candidly displaying the lows of her own journey, while honoring the holiness of motherhood and our attempts at it. Exhibition dates: February 1 - March 15, 2025 Gallery Hours: Saturdays, 12-4 pm
