The Wakefield Porchfest Committee has formally opened registration for Wakefield Porchfest 2026, which will take place on Saturday, August 29th, featuring 100+ acts at 60 venues town-wide.

The 2026 event aims to build on the success of the events hosted in 2024 and 2025, which featured performances at homes, businesses, and non-profits across the North Shore town.

Wakefield Porchfest is coordinated by a group of volunteers who collaborate with musicians and the residents, homeowners, and small businesses who host performances. The success of the first two events led to the creation of a new non-profit, called Next Stage Wakefield, to support live local music through out the year.
 
The 2026 event is supported by 14 community sponsors, as well as in kind funding and support from residents across the community. 
  
Wakefield is known as one of the top communities for music education in Massachusetts and in the nation. In May 2025, the NAMM Foundation named Wakefield one of the “Best Communities for Music Education” in the United States, the 14th time the community has received that recognition. The community boasts a strong support network for performing arts and for emerging musicians, sustained by the Town of Wakefield, Wakefield Public Schools, Wakefield Music Boosters, The Wakefield Performing Arts Department, Children’s Playhouse of Wakefield, the Wakefield High School Marching Band, and other local organizations.
