RE-ROOTED: An Ode to Cabo Verde Date: March 22, 7:00 PM Location: SoWa Art + Design District, 450 Harrison Ave. Join us for a night of celebration, honoring our roots and ancestors at RE-ROOTED: An Ode to Cabo Verde.  The evening will begin with a powerful spoken word performance by Amanda Shea followed by an insightful roundtable panel discussion featuring:<ul><li>Tony Barros – Owner of Cesaria's Restaurant</li><li>Dr. Aminah Pilgrim – Professor at Berklee College of Music, specializing in Africana Studies</li><li>Miles Perry (Pires) – Artist/Designer of THIS IS AN ORIGINAL WORK OF ART ™ </li><li>Sidney Baptista – Founder/Owner of Pioneers Run Crew and PYNRS™</li></ul>The panel will be directed by the dynamic Shantel "STAX" Teixeira with live music by Jo Saza. This event promises a beautiful evening of love, music, art, spoken word, and community. Everyone is invited to join us in this heartfelt tribute to Cabo Verde’s rich culture and heritage. Through a unique fusion of custom-programmed Arduino technology and abstract modern painting, Perry creates an immersive environment that challenges traditional boundaries of art.&nbsp; Drawing from his Cape Verdean heritage and Boston's vibrant cultural scene, Perry’s work is deeply inspired by the rhythms of Jazz and Hip-Hop. Each piece captures the vibrancy of these musical genres, translating their emotional intensity into visual forms. The result is a series of paintings that not only reflect the energy of sound but interact with it, creating a multi-sensory experience that bridges the worlds of visual art and music.&nbsp; *CHROMESTHESIA* offers a fresh perspective on how sound and color can coexist, with each work acting as both a visual and sonic composition.
