Herbal Tea Party and Tea Blending for Mother's Day

Join us for afternoon tea on Mother’s Day to celebrate Mother Earth, the mothers we adore, and our inner parents. Bring someone you love for 10% off both tickets. Learn about the properties and benefits of tea flowers and herbs while mixing and sampling your own custom blend. Jaileen Baptista of Jaileen’s Teas will guide us through the experience of developing an organic tea catered to specific needs and preferences. We’ll sample some of Jaileen’s personal blends for immune, skin, and heart support. Complimentary high tea snacks from some of our favorite bakeries in Cambridge will be available to enjoy during your tea journey. After, you can create your own designed tag and ingredients label with our art materials. What we’ll provide: Organic tea flowers and herbs for blending, instruction, and tea samples. Repurposed glass jars for your tea storage. Complimentary snacks. What to bring (optional): Your preferred clean container for your tea if you’d prefer not to use the one we provide. Create a custom charm necklace at Still Life Studios

Create a custom charm necklace with <a href="https://hootievintage.com/">Hootie Vintage</a> in this fun workshop. Hannah will show us inspiring examples from her collection to get your creative juices flowing. Choose charms that speak to you and learn how to attach them to a provided 14k gold filled chain. Create a piece that’s truly yours by incorporating usable found objects and jewelry pieces of your own - loose pendants, broken earrings, or small seashells make for great additions. What we’ll provide: One gold filled chain, 7 vintage charms, jump rings, and necessary tools to borrow to create your necklace. What to bring (optional): Jewelry pieces and small objects you’d like to incorporate in your necklace. Pieces must already contain holes to slip a jump ring through - we won’t be able to drill holes in this workshop. Creatively darn damaged knits at Still Life Studios

Mender extraordinaire <a href="https://www.jessamyshay.com/">Jessamy Shay</a> will teach you how to hand-repair holes and weak areas in sweaters, socks, and other knits using square darning and seed stitch. You’ll practice both techniques on sample remnants of damaged sweaters. Once you've got the hang of it, tackle your own darning project on a garment with guidance from Jessamy. We’ll provide you with a wounded secondhand wool clothing item, or use your own. What we’ll provide: Garment scraps for your practice round and a secondhand wool item in need of repair that you can repair and keep. We'll provide all yarn and necessary tools (needles, darning eggs, embroidery hoops, etc) you'll need to borrow during the class. What to bring (optional): A knit item in need of repair, ideally with holes no larger than a quarter. Worsted weight or lighter knits work better for this class. Optional upgrades: Repair kits with additional yarn and needles will be available for purchase to take on another project at home. Premium secondhand clothing items in need of repair will be available for sale.

Create hand bound journals at Still Life Studios

<a href="https://www.instagram.com/lendahanddesigns/">Liticia Avery</a> of Lend a Hand Designs will take you step-by-step through the process of stitch-binding two pocket journals. Choose from multiple paper sizes, paper types, and cover designs. If time allows, add more flair to your cover using our art supplies. What we’ll provide: All necessary paper and materials for your finished journals. Borrow our tools (needles, awls, paper cutters, etc) to complete each step in the process. We’ll have some complimentary snacks and beverages available during your making session as well. What to bring: Willingness to learn! If you have any paper items you’d like to collage on the cover or include in your book (like a cherished note or an event ticket, etc) please bring them! Optional upgrades: Additional premium paper will be available for purchase.

Spring Fling / a social event for singles in their 30s and 40s

Come meet fellow singles in their 30s and 40s* for a fun night in Central Square, Cambridge. We'll begin the night with conversation and low-pressure activities and end the evening with a quick dance lesson and all-vinyl dance party. Sign up to do it all or just come for the dancing. Please note that there are two ticket options for the event. Meet, Greet, and Dance – or – Dance Party Only. Please only select one when checking out. Option 1: Mix, Mingle, and Dance (all activities, begins at 7pm): Come meet fellow singles in their 30s and 40s for a night of mingling activities and gently guided conversation. Stay for a quick dance lesson and a vinyl dance party with DJ NXN. This option includes one drink ticket and a free gift. Option 2: Dance Party Only (includes dance lesson and all-vinyl dance party only, begins at 9pm) Take a dance lesson with new friends (or more than friends) and dance the evening away to a vinyl playlist by DJ NXN. –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Location TBA (accessible by public transit and nearby public parking). The event will be located at a bar/restaurant in Davis Square, Somerville. Exact location will be announced to ticket holders prior to the event. Recommended ages for this event are people in or around their thirties - late twenties to early/mid forties fits. All genders and sexual orientations welcome. This event isn't appropriate for partnered folks. Upon registration, you'll be asked questions on gender identity and sexual orientation.
