South Shore Conservatory presents its premier fundraising gala, Starry Night: South Shore Conservatory Winter Gala on Saturday, January 31, 6 pm at South Shore Country Club, 274 South Street in Hingham. Inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s masterpiece by the same name, Starry Night is a luminous celebration of the arts, community, and creative expression.&nbsp;The formal cocktail attire event features live jazz by the SSC Jazz Quartet, and dance classics by guest artist Benn &amp; Co.; elevated cuisine by Ironwood Hingham executive chef Tina Conte; and dazzling live and silent auction experiences.&nbsp;Proceeds support SSC’s mission to make the arts accessible to all. South Shore Holiday Pops

South Shore Conservatory starts its own holiday tradition this season as they present “South Shore Holiday Pops” featuring the Atlantic Symphony Orchestra (ASO) on Sunday, December 14, 3:00 pm at the Scituate Performing Arts Center, 606 Chief Justice Cushing Highway in Scituate.&nbsp;Led by Maestro Jin Kim, ASO professional musicians perform the joyful sounds of the season, including holiday favorites such as “Sleigh Ride,” “Hanukkah Festival Overture,” and “Winter Wonderland.” The concert includes a festive audience sing along and a special&nbsp;visitor&nbsp;from the North Pole.&nbsp;Tickets for SSC’s family-focused “South Shore Holiday Pops” concert are $35 for mezzanine seating ($15 for seniors and those under 18) and $48 for orchestra seating ($25 for seniors and those under 18). Holiday Jazz

South Shore Conservatory ushers in the holiday season with a Duxbury Music Festival preview concert Holiday Jazz, featuring Boston-based Caio e Jess Quintet on Wednesday, December 3, at Island Creek Oyster Bar (ICO), 403 Washington Street in Duxbury. Doors open at 5:30, music starts at 6 pm.  Led by American vocalist, Jessica Curran and Brazilian guitarist, Caio Afiune, this award-winning jazz ensemble presents a unique blend of jazz, rock-pop and Brazilian music. An award-winning ensemble, Caio e Jess delivers an ethereal, immersive show of virtuosic electricity. Pre-concert activities begin at 5 pm; concert to start at 6! Celebrate the sounds of the season—summer style! Get ready for a joyful concert experience as SSC’s Hingham campus transforms into a festive wonderland for a holiday-themed summer celebration like no other. Under the direction of Conductor Eric Laprade, the Commonwealth Wind Symphony and special guest vocalists take the amphitheater stage for an evening of music, merriment, and community. From Sleigh Ride to A Hanukkah Celebration to Imani, this inclusive musical program honors winter traditions from across cultures. Bring the whole family and enjoy food trucks, ice cream, holiday-themed activities, and even winter inflatables—because there’s no wrong time to celebrate together.

Evenings Under The Stars | Star Wars Symphony, a celebration of John Williams

Conductor&nbsp;Nick Palmer&nbsp;and&nbsp;Plymouth Phil&nbsp;musicians bring to life the legendary works of composer&nbsp;John Williams&nbsp;alongside masterpieces from composers such as&nbsp;Strauss, Korngold, Holst, Giacchino,&nbsp;and&nbsp;Göransson.&nbsp;Featured selections include bold themes from&nbsp;Rogue One, The Mandalorian, and The Book of Boba Fett.&nbsp;The heart of the program centers on the sweeping, heroic, and emotional music of the Star Wars saga: “The Imperial March,” “Princess Leia’s Theme,” and the triumphant Main Title.&nbsp;“Also Sprach Zarathustra,” “Mars” from The Planets are part of the program. Join us for a night that honors storytelling through sound, showcasing the timeless legacy of John Williams and the power of live performance to transport us to galaxies far, far away.

Songs for the Earth: A Benefit Concert for Mass Audubon

A sustainable future for our Earth calls for a diverse contribution of talents, including the arts. Songs for the Earth is a benefit concert for&nbsp;<a href="https://www.massaudubon.org/">Mass Audubon</a>’s educational programs.&nbsp; The afternoon starts with educational activities including a nature-themed craft for families, a reading of&nbsp;<a href="https://www.rabbishoshana.com/">“The Tide is Rising, So Are We!”</a>&nbsp;by Rabbi Shoshana Meira Friedman,&nbsp;and a presentation about sustainability and chocolate by Dr. Lori Shapiro of&nbsp;<a href="https://www.suenoschocolate.com/">Suenõs Cacao</a>. The concert includes the world premiere of a newly-composed piece by SSC String Chair,&nbsp;<a href="https://christinedelphinemusic.com/">Christine Delphine Hedden,</a>&nbsp;commissioned by the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.glfcam.com/">Gabriela Lena Frank Creative Academy of Music</a>&nbsp;as part of the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.glfcam.com/composing-earth">Composing Earth</a>&nbsp;initiative. On the first day of April Break, hop on over to South Shore Conservatory’s Hingham campus for a fun-filled Spring Egg Hunt! Join us&nbsp;Friday, April 18th, from&nbsp;10:30 AM – 12:00 PM!&nbsp;Families are invited to join us as we search for colorful eggs hidden around our beautiful campus. After the hunt, stick around for a&nbsp;lively sing-along&nbsp;featuring kids’ favorites and pop hits—a perfect way to wrap up the morning with music and joy! Join harpist Sarah Stuart and discover the mechanics behind the orchestral harp. Learn about Alice Chalifoux, principal harpist of the Cleveland Orchestra 1931-1974, Grammy winner and acclaimed teacher.  This program highlights the largest instrument in the orchestra and the tiniest lady who played it!

Duxbury Music Festival Spring Preview Concert

Duxbury Music Festival (DMF) gears up for its 20th anniversary season with a special preview concert. Join pianist and DMF artistic director Stephen Deitz, along with pianist Regina Yung and cellist Sophie Shao, for an afternoon of music, conversation, and a look ahead to this upcoming milestone season.&nbsp; Guests are invited to stay and mingle with the performers at the post-concert reception.

Irish Music Concert: Melodies of Ireland

Join us for an afternoon of history, storytelling, and stunning live performance as we explore the rich traditions of Irish music. The event begins with a pre-concert lecture tracing the evolution of Irish music in Ireland and around the world. Audience members will learn about the instruments, historical, and cultural events that have shaped Irish traditional music. The concert features SSC Strings Department Chair Christine Hedden and her partner, renowned multi-instrumentalist Caoimhín Ó Fearghail. Together they will share Irish traditional music on uilleann pipes, flute, and fiddle. From ancient airs to lively reels, discover how Irish music has shaped and been shaped by cultures across the globe.

Professional Development round out our array of services in Creative Arts Therapies, with offerings that include Access and Accommodation, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Social/Emotional Learning through Music, and more. All our programs are designed to maximize independence and are provided in the least restrictive environment. We welcome all levels of ability and all ages. While some of our programming may be specific to certain needs, we strive to integrate all our groups and classes. ImagineARTS: ImagineARTS is an arts-integrated literacy residency program currently partnering with the Brockton Public School district and the Rockland Public Schools to strengthen early literacy skills among Pre-K and kindergarten students. It targets specific literacy skills such as sequencing, rhyming, letter sound recognition and syllables through weekly arts-integrated literacy instruction, professional development for classroom teachers, and a bridge to reading and the arts for families. ImagineARTS provides access to songs, books, and materials for classroom teachers, empowering them to incorporate the arts into their daily literacy activities.
