Boston Bhangra Competition 2025

Don't miss the BIGGEST Bhangra Competition in the USA! This will be our 22nd year and we're looking for it to be our biggest and best yet! Bhangra is a folk dance from India that is very high energy and really fun to watch. People have compared it to a fusion of hip hop and cheerleading with a folk twist.   We will have some of the best Bhangra teams from the USA and Canada battling it out to be crowned the champions!! Don't miss it at the Strand Theatre in Boston on Saturday, November 15th, 2025 @ 6 PM Sharp! This year we will have 2 categories: music category with pre-recorded music that the teams dance to and a live category, where teams bring their own bands and they perform to their bands! This will be a FIRST for a US competition!   LEGENDARY Bhangra singer Bhinda Jatt will be performing live!!! Thank you for your interest in the South Asian Showdown (SAS). This will be the 16th year thanks to the support of the teams, sponsors and community! Thank you!!! We look to make this the BIGGEST SAS ever! Teams from all over North America &amp; Canada have deemed us “one of the best Bollywood/Fusion competitions” in the North America, and we look forward to living up to that title again this year. Bollywood/Fusion is a highly energetic dance from India that combines many different styles of dance coordinated to a theme. You will see Bollywood, Hip Hop, Bhangra, Classical, Contemporary, Tollywood and more! You don’t want to miss out on the chance of hearing the feet pulsing music, and phenomenal atmosphere at the event. You will see some of the best dance performances of the year with teams that come to Boston from the US and Canada! This year's competition will be taking place on Saturday, March 1st, 2025 @ the historic <a href="https://www.boston.gov/departments/arts-and-culture/strand-theatre">Strand Theatre</a> in Boston. This theatre is bigger and better than before and we look forward to seeing the teams light it up!!
