Dan LaMorte

Dan LaMorte is a distinct voice in stand-up comedy—and not just because he’s on the spectrum. He began his comedy career at 19, after a college baseball injury ended his athletic ambitions. Dan made appearances on Fox’s Red Eye, AXS TV’s Gotham Comedy Live, Getting Doug with High, and, as he jokes, nearly every drive-thru in the Tri-state area. His two albums, Not Enough Pieces and Infect Me Once, remain popular on SiriusXM and have collectively earned over a million streams on Pandora. By 23, Dan had built a promising comedy résumé—and a 354-pound body. But a diagnosis of fatty liver disease sparked a dramatic lifestyle change. Over the next three years, he lost more than 185 pounds, became an ultra runner (competing in races longer than marathons), and inspired countless fans to pursue their own wellness journeys. The transformation may have reshaped his life, but his sharp, self-aware humor remains unchanged. In 2023, Dan was selected as a New Face at the prestigious Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal. He followed it up with a standout Don’t Tell Comedyset, released in 2024. Based in New York City, Dan is a regular at the Comedy Cellar, The Stand, and other top clubs—continuing to bring his unique perspective, resilience, and punchlines to audiences nationwide.

Get ready to rock with School of Rock Medford’s upcoming seasonal show! This season, our Performance Program groups will take the stage to celebrate two iconic sounds in rock history. The Best of the ’80s band will bring the energy and style of iconic artists like Michael Jackson, Prince, Guns N’ Roses, and more, while our Black Sabbath group will deliver the heavy riffs and dark intensity that defined an entire genre. Also featured will be our four Rock 101 groups, starring our youngest rising rockers as they showcase all of the progress they’ve made over the course of our Spring Season. The afternoon kicks off with a performance by School of Rock Medford’s House Band before our Rock 101 and Performance Program groups take the stage. Join us for an unforgettable afternoon packed with energy, variety, and the next generation of rock stars!

2x Emmy-winning comedian, writer, actress (Crashing) and Executive Producer (Ted Lasso), Jamie Lee made her Edinburgh Fringe debut performance with a brand-new darkly comedic hour My Friend Katy at the Cabaret Bar at the Pleasance Theatre. In 2004, Jamie’s best friend Katy died—suddenly, mysteriously—while Jamie was away at college. She did what most young people do with grief: she tried to ignore it. But even 20 years after it happened, the questions never stopped, so Jamie decided to finally get answers. She launched an amateur investigation and turned the results into a hilarious, gripping, and deeply personal stand-up show. Part true crime, part stand-up comedy, My Friend Katy is a hilarious, haunting, and deeply personal hour about the deranged ways we search for closure. Jamie Lee is a stand-up comedian, actor, and two-time Emmy-winning writer. She starred in HBO’s Crashing opposite Pete Holmes, and wrote the critically acclaimed episode “The Viewing Party,” named one of the Best TV Episodes by The New York Times. Her debut book Weddiculous was adapted into the Netflix/ITV series The Wedding Coach, which she hosted and executive produced. Jamie is currently an Executive Producer on Ted Lasso and recently wrapped writing on Chad Powers, starring Glen Powell, which debuted last year on Hulu. She stars alongside Jon Heder in the romantic comedy film Plan B, and will star alongside Cedric the Entertainer and Sophia Taylor Ali in the upcoming film Above The Line, out later this year.

Strings Who Sing: a String Quartet Reimagined with original music by Flight Or Visibility

Inspired by the legacies of Rhiannon Giddens, Abel Selacoe, Carla Kihlstedt, and Laurie Anderson, Strings Who Sing features four singer-songwriters who accompany themselves on bowed string instruments playing in ensemble together. This project is the longtime dream of Boston-based artist and organizer Flight Or Visibility, who has written most of the music for the ensemble. With up to 4 vocal notes and 8 string notes happening simultaneously at any given moment, the singing string quartet is uniquely able to provide lush orchestral textures, tender moments, and nature sounds without the use of any special effects. This concert will be Strings Who Sing’s live performance debut! &nbsp; Ft. Flight Or Visibility (Violin), Clara Rose (Violin), Nora Borealis (Viola), Valerie Thompson (Cello) &nbsp; This concert will also be ASL interpreted. &nbsp; Presented by Wholetone Music Academy and Club Passim

Boston Jazz Foundation Presents: Caio e Jess – Encontro Album Release Show Join Caio e Jess for the release show of their long-awaited debut album, Encontro. Featuring American vocalist Jessica Curran and Brazilian guitarist Caio Afiune, the duo blends jazz, Brazilian rhythms, and rock into a sound that is both deeply organic and cinematic. Six years in the making, Encontro is a rich, immersive musical journey shaped by travel, collaboration, and a shared love of storytelling through sound. For this one-night-only performance, Caio e Jess will bring the album to life with a large ensemble, creating an expansive live experience that captures the full depth and energy of the record as it was meant to be heard. Opening the evening is the BJF Family Band, presented by the Boston Jazz Foundation. Presented by the Boston Jazz Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to uplifting local artists and fostering community through the vibrant art of jazz.
