Jazz Sunday: Ran Blake: Improvising to Film Noir

A rare intimate evening with Ran Blake, jazz legend, MacArthur Genius award-winner, and co-founder of the Contemporary Improvisation program at NEC. Obsessed with film noir, wildly creative, highly original, he creates spontaneous solos, mixing classical tonalities, great American blues &amp; gospel, and storyboarding based on movies. Hear him improvise on a grand piano to projected film clips. Set followed by jam to projected movie clips.<br>Jazz Sundays at The Square Root brings together Boston’s best jazz artists in an intimate restaurant setting for performances followed by themed jam.<br>
