Memory Café Sing-Along

NSM is excited to offer Memory Café Sing-Alongs, warm and welcoming events for those with memory loss or cognitive changes and their care partners. Enjoy an hour of familiar songs led by NSM faculty <a href="https://www.newschoolofmusic.org/faculty/reid">Joe Reid</a> followed by refreshments and friendly conversation. Free to attend and open to all, no diagnosis needed. Generously sponsored by <a href="https://shsboston.com/">Seniors Helping Seniors</a>. Free Holiday Reading with Charles Coe

Join Cambridge resident and award-winning poet and writer Charles Coe for a cozy holiday celebration at the New School of Music. Charles will bring to life Dylan Thomas’s beloved classic A Child’s Christmas in Wales, along with excerpts from Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol and Nobel Prize-winning writer Isaac Bashevis Singer’s “The Parakeet Named Dreidel,” a charming Hanukkah tale about a family who adopts a lost parakeet. The program will also feature selections of Charles’s own poetry and prose inspired by holiday themes. This festive event is free and open to the public—our holiday gift to the Cambridge community. Come share in the warmth of story, poetry, and holiday cheer! A reception will follow the event.

Free Holiday Sing-Along

Join the New School of Music on Tuesday, December 16 from 6:30-8:00pm for a free Holiday Sing-Along: an evening of song, community, and cheer. Pianist and NSM instructor Joe Reid will lead festive tunes to celebrate the upcoming season. It promises to be a feel-good event for all ages! ALL are welcome. ♫ ♪ ♫

Family Music Festival

Join the New School of Music and transform Lowell School Park into the ultimate hub of community, fun, music, and art. From toe-tapping performances to epic lawn games, crafty creations, and an “instrument petting zoo” — we’ve got it all, even an ice cream truck! (Ice cream available for purchase.) Performances include an NSM student recital kicking off at 12:15pm, followed by faculty recital at 1:15pm. We'll be jamming rain or shine, so mark your calendars and get ready to connect with Cambridge neighbors and have some fantastic musical fun with NSM.
