The 4th Annual Boston New Works Festival takes place June 26th - June 29th at the Calderwood Pavilion and the Boston Center for the Arts.&nbsp;The Boston New Works Festival is a weekend long festival celebrating new original plays by local playwrights.&nbsp;The seven original plays selected for this year’s festival will be performed on five different stages at the Calderwood Pavilion and the Boston Center for the Arts. Moonbox Productions Presents the Gospel Musical Crowns

Moonbox Productions is thrilled to present the gospel musical, Crowns, opening on April 11th and running through May 4th at Arrow Street Arts in Cambridge. A powerful and jubilant musical mixing gospel, jazz and a little bit of hip hop, in which hats become the springboard for an exploration of Black history and identity as seen through the eyes of a young Black women.  Crowns is a celebration of sisterhood, self-expression and fabulous hat. Get ready to clap your hands and tap your feet because these ladies have "hatitude". Tickets are $55 for general admission, $45 for seniors and $25 for students with Pay-What-You-Wish options available for each performance, while supplies last.

Moonbox Productions presents the award-winning musical comedy Dirty Rotten Scoundrels by David Yazbek. Directed and co-produced by Allison Olivia Choat with musical direction by Catherine Stornetta and choreography by Brad Reinking, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels opens September 27th and runs through October 13th at Arrow Street Arts performance venue located at 2 Arrow Street in Cambridge. Tickets are $65 for preferred seating and $55 for regular seating with Pay-What-You-Wish options available for each performance, while supplies last.

Mermaid Hour&nbsp;is a funny, coming-of-age story in which the parents, not the teenagers, need to learn how to change.&nbsp;For Pilar and Bird, parenting a trans tween is all about guessing how to get it right when they’re not even sure what that means—and it doesn’t help that they’re not on the same page.&nbsp;Vi just wishes they would keep up: she’s busy navigating her first crush on super-cool Jacob, obsessing over her favorite YouTube vlogger, and just about ready to make herself an internet sensation. &nbsp;Fast-paced and heartfelt, Mermaid Hour finds all three confronting the gaps between who they are and who they wish to be.

Moonbox Productions presents The Manic Monologues by Zachery Burton and Elisa Hofmeister. Directed by Brad Reinking, The Manic Monologues opens on February 16th and runs until February 25th at the Studio at Arrow Street Arts. Burton and Hofmeister wrote The Manic Monologues in the wake of Burton's 2017 bipolar diagnosis while a doctoral student at Stanford University.  The play brings to life incredible stories — stories that will challenge and inform your ideas about what it means to be touched by a mental health condition.  These true, lived experiences come from diverse and resilient people living across the world.  These brave individuals have things to say about struggle and pain, but also triumph and joy.  They are moving.  They are human.  And they are not ashamed.
