South Shore Art Center enriches the communities south of Boston by engaging artists and by fostering an understanding and appreciation of the visual arts through exhibitions and education.

Art exhibitions in onsite galleries are free and open to the public, Monday - Saturday 10 AM - 4 PM.

The Art Center offers artists access to master art courses, local and nationally-juried exhibitions to display their creative works, an avid audience to appreciate and purchase their artwork, and interaction with a community of creatives. The Art Center also features a special artist membership category -- Gallery Artists -- who must be juried in by their peers to an elite membership that brings immense prestige and exposure. The nearly 180 artists comprising our Gallery Artists represent artistic talent located throughout the fifty communities on the South Shore and beyond.

More than 20 exhibitions are shown each year in the galleries located in the Art Center and two satellite locations (the Paul Pratt Library located in Cohasset and the South Shore Art Conservatory located in Hingham).
