The Kilroy Square Farmers Market will be open every Friday from Noon to 4:00 PM until October 31st, offering a vibrant mix of fresh produce, local goods, and artisan crafts. The New England Center and Home for Veterans (NECHV) will host the 2025 Greater Boston Stand Down, a one-day event that brings together service providers and local Veterans and enables Veterans to receive immediate comprehensive and coordinated services in one place. This remarkable community event will include more than 100 service providers, employers and community organizations to provide essential supportive services to Veterans in the Greater Boston area (must bring proof of military service), including housing assistance, medical care, wellness programs, legal support, employment assistance, and prevention services. The Quincy 400 Flag Day Parade & Fireworks

Mayor Thomas P. Koch and the City of Quincy are proud to announce the nation’s longest-running Flag Day Parade will take place on Saturday, June 14th. In celebration of Quincy’s 400th anniversary, the route has been extended to better accommodate public enjoyment of this enhanced celebration. This year’s parade will step off at 6 p.m. at the corner of Hancock Street and Hannon Parkway in Quincy Center and head north along Hancock Street, turning onto Merrymount Parkway and wrap-up at Vietnam Veterans Drive and Adams Field. A flag-raising ceremony and musical performance at Pageant Field will follow the completion of the parade. The night will culminate with fireworks over Black’s Creek at approximately 9:00 p.m.  This year’s parade will feature elite national bands and drum corps, new floats honoring Quincy’s rich history, specialty units, public safety and veterans’ color guards, a fleet of classic cars, and more than 1,000 flag-waving youngsters. Adding to the excitement, former Grand Marshals will return to join in this special parade, making it a truly memorable event for all.  Bands performing include the Boston Crusaders Drop Corp MA, 7th Regiment Drum Corp NH, Connecticut Hurricanes Drum Corp, Long Island Sunrisers Drum Corp NY, USMC Corp Quantico Marine Band, US Navy Band NE Newport RI, USA NG 215 Army Band MA, Quincy North Quincy Combined Band, Connecticut Alumni Drum Corp, Boston Crusaders Alumni Drum Corp and the North Star Alumni Drum Corp.  At Pageant Field, the 50’ x 80’ flag will be raised over the crowd to the tune of “Grand Ol’ Flag.” A ceremony recognizing the Grand Marshal and the Richard and Simone Koch Award winner will follow.  The evening will commence with a spectacular fireworks show over Black’s Creek, sponsored by Quirk Auto.  For more information, visit quincyma.gov, quincy400.com or follow City of Quincy and Quincy400 on social media.

City Of Quincy Memorial Day Parade And Ceremony

The procession will begin at Quincy Avenue and proceed to Hancock Street, pausing at United First Parish Church for a wreath-laying ceremony. It will then continue along Coddington Street, cross Southern Artery to Sea Street and conclude at Mount Wollaston Cemetery. A ceremony will be held to honor the men and women who have served and sacrificed so much.

 City of Quincy Free Classic Rock Revival Concert May 24th

A Classic Rock Revival Concert will take place on the Hancock Adams Common on Saturday, May 24th from 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Tribute artists with the classic music of the bands Chicago, the Doobie Brothers and Queen will all perform.     Concert Lineup:  1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. – Chicago Total Access  3:15 p.m. – 4:45 p.m. – Doobie Others Band  5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. – The Ultimate Queen Celebration    Presented by Mayor Thomas P. Koch and the City of Quincy, Quincy400, and the Quincy Foundation, this free event is open to the public. Grand Opening: City of Quincy Animal Care Center

Join the City of Quincy for the grand opening of its new state-of-the-art Animal Care Center—home to the Quincy Animal Shelter, Police Canine Unit, and Animal Control. The event will take place on Saturday, May 10th, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 99 Quarry Street, Quincy, MA 02169. Members of the community are invited to attend. This new facility marks a significant milestone for the City and its residents, as it brings together three essential services under one roof: the Quincy Animal Shelter, the Quincy Police Department Canine Unit, and Quincy Animal Control. Designed to provide safety, care, and support to animals in need, this new home exemplifies the City’s dedication to animal welfare and public service. The journey to this grand opening is rooted in years of dedication and planning. Originally, the Quincy Animal Shelter operated out of a modest facility on Broad Street, supported by a passionate team of volunteers. In 2023, the City relocated the Broad Street shelter to make way for the new Public Safety Headquarters, scheduled to open this fall. During the transition, the Quincy Animal Shelter was temporarily housed at 440R East Squantum Street, ensuring continuity of services and care while the new permanent facility was under construction. In addition to housing and caring for homeless and stray animals, the new animal shelter will soon launch animal enrichment programs and a pet food donation initiative to assist families in need— offering crucial support to both pets and people in challenging times.
