Join OAK Long Bar + Kitchen and <a href="https://epc-champagne.com/en/">EPC Champagne</a> on Thursday, August 21, from 6:30–8:30 p.m. for complimentary pours of EPC’s Blanc de Blancs, Brut, and Blanc Rosé, plus a curated charcuterie spread, while supplies last. For one night only, OAK will be the only bar in the U.S. serving EPC’s Blanc de Blancs by the glass ($40). Guests who purchase a glass will be entered to win a bottle of Blanc de Blancs, custom EPC champagne stopper, and ice bucket. EPC (short for Epicurean) is a Champagne house committed to traceability, transparency, and quality. They partner with local vignerons to co-create each cuvée from single-village terroirs, with every back label serving as an “identity card” detailing the wine’s origins, harvest year, grower group, and exact grape composition. EPC follows a low-intervention philosophy, allowing terroir to speak for itself and resulting in a lineup known for its purity, freshness, and distinctive character. All EPC Champagnes contain low levels of both sugar and sulfur. Not free on the 21st? OAK is carrying EPC Blanc de Blancs all summer long on their bottle list.

Uncle Nearest was the first spirits brand in the world to be named after a Black American and has earned the distinction of being the most awarded bourbon and Tennessee whiskey from 2019 through 2024. Featured pours at the sampling will include: Tennessee Whiskey, 1884 Small Batch Whiskey, 1856 100 Proof Whiskey, Straight Rye Whiskey, and Single Barrel Whiskey.   In addition, OAK is offering a special Juneteenth cocktail throughout June: the Shelbyville Lemonade ($20), crafted with Uncle Nearest 1884 Small Batch Whiskey, dry curaçao, agave, soda water, and lemon. Fairmont Copley Plaza’s <a href="https://www.oaklongbarkitchen.com/menus/#/pride-month">OAK Long Bar + Kitchen</a> (OAK), located in Copley Square where the Boston Pride For The People Parade route kicks off on Saturday, June 14th, invites parade participants and spectators to stop by its patio between 9 and 11 a.m. for complimentary espresso samples—a perfect pre-parade pick-me-up before the procession begins at 11 a.m.   For the second year, the restaurant has partnered with Nespresso, whose boutique is nearby inside the Prudential Center, to serve these free “cups of community” to help fuel the morning’s festivities (while supplies last; decaf also available). Passersby are welcome to relax and connect over coffee on OAK’s patio, with seating available on a first come, first served basis. Parade-goers can also enter to win exciting prizes, including a Nespresso Vertuo Pop+ machine and OAK gift cards.   Throughout Pride month, OAK is offering two festive specials that benefit <a href="https://www.bagly.org/">BAGLY</a> (Boston Alliance of LGBTQ+ Youth), with $1 from each order donated to the nonprofit. Fairmont Copley Plaza’s iconic Holiday Bacchanal Dinner returns in grand fashion in partnership with Boston Common magazine this festive season, reviving one of Boston’s most luxurious and sought-after winter affairs. For one exclusive night, guests will have the rare opportunity to dine in the hotel’s magnificent lobby. The 112-year-old gilded space will be dramatically transformed into a lavish celebration, where diners will indulge beneath a 21-foot coffered ceiling and alongside opulent Italian marble columns—a stylish, historic setting for an unforgettable gathering with friends and family. A bacchanal dinner is a feast inspired by Bacchus, the Roman god of wine, revelry, and indulgence. Plus, OAK is running a month-long cocktail special called Cato’s Julep ($20) featuring Uncle Nearest 1884 whiskey, pineapple, curacao, lemon and mint. $1 per cocktail sold will be donated to <a href="https://www.missionsafe.org/history-model">MissionSAFE</a>, a Boston-based nonprofit working with high-risk youth to help them gain the skills and confidence to thrive, not just survive.   The cocktail is inspired by Cato Alexander, whom many cocktail historians consider America’s first celebrity bartender and an unsung hero of this country’s mixology. Cato was born a slave in New York City in 1780 and worked at an inn, and frequently waited on George Washington. He later gained his freedom and remained in the service industry before opening his own inn called Cato’s Tavern. While he was a great chef, Cato became famous for his skills behind the bar. Specifically his talents crafting punches and mint juleps. Often written about in the press, his drinks were the first to be referenced outside of the U.S. as actual “cocktails." Who has not heard of Cato Alexander?" one New York newspaper wrote in 1835. "Not to know Cato’s is not to know the world."

Make Boston’s famous pet-friendly hotel a stop during School Vacation Week for your kids to enjoy a special book reading of “Catie Copley,” the sweet story of&nbsp;<a href="https://www.fairmont-copley-plaza.com/stay/pet-friendly/" target="_blank">Fairmont Copley Plaza</a>’s first Canine Ambassador. Catie started the hotel lobby dog trend 20 years ago when she joined the team in 2004, inspiring a movement in hospitality to provide travelers with the furry companionship they miss from home. This fun, educational event in our St. James Ballroom includes an appearance from Fairmont Copley Plaza’s Canine Ambassador,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.instagram.com/coricopley" target="_blank">Cori Copley</a>, so your children can meet, pet and hug our real-life dog that works in the hotel! She continues the hotel’s legacy of adopting black Labs in need of a new career path—both her and Catie were raised by the Guide Dog Foundation, and our previous Canine Ambassador, Carly, came to us from the Animal Rescue League of Boston. Hot cocoa and Cori-shaped cookies will be served for an afternoon snack, and every child will be gifted a small Cori stuffed animal and hardcover copy of "Catie Copley” to take home. Boston Marathon Light Up the Night Projection Show

New for 2023, a marathon-themed video projection show will feature three unique shows each evening that will light up the iconic façade of the Fairmont Copley Plaza hotel and get participants, spectators, and community members ready for race day. Featuring highlight videos and memorable moments from 127 years of racing, the projection show will celebrate this year’s #oneBOSTON theme and will play every 15 minutes each evening. National Dog Day is Friday, August 26th and Boston’s famous pet-friendly hotel is hosting a pawsome outdoor celebration for the howliday.
