Let’s Rock Cancer! to benefit the Cancer Care Equity Program at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute

Light of Day Records presents Let’s Rock Cancer! A Rockin’ Night to benefit Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s <a href="https://www.dana-farber.org/research/departments-centers/cancer-care-equity">Cancer Care Equity Program</a>. The show will be hosted by the Crystal Ballroom at Somerville Theater, 55 Davis Square in Somerville, on Saturday, December 16 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The show will feature live music by Muck &amp; the Mires, Vapors of Morphine, The Chelsea Curve, Muzzins, The Ray Liriano Experience and Uncivil Servants.   The event is open to all ages with tickets beginning at $25 for general admission. The <a href="https://www.jimmyfund.org/events/cancer-fundraising-events/music-heals-the-soul/">Music Heals the Soul</a> fundraiser is back in-person, at a new location, for its 21st year. Supporters can experience the healing power of music live at <a href="https://www.lookoutfarm.com/">Belkin Lookout Farm</a> in Natick, Mass. on Saturday, September 17 at 3 p.m. While listening to music, attendees can enjoy fall festivities, including food, drinks, and apple picking. All proceeds benefit the <a href="https://www.dana-farber.org/for-patients-and-families/care-and-treatment/support-services-and-amenities/zakim-center-for-integrative-therapies/">Leonard P. Zakim Center for Integrative Therapies and Healthy Living</a> at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, established 22 years ago in memory of Lenny Zakim to support the mind-body wellness of patients battling cancer. Individual registration for the fall festival begins at $150 and attendees under 18 are free. Group packages are available starting at $500, and include perks ranging from recognition on event signage to exclusive tours of the Zakim Center with its director, Jennifer Ligibel, MD. The 27th annual Swim Across America – Boston Open Water Swim to be held at Castle Island’s Pleasure Bay for the First Time

The Swim Across America – Boston Open Water Swim is making to fight cancer for its 27th year at a new location. The charity swim event will take place at Castle Island’s Pleasure Bay in South Boston on Saturday, August 6 from 8 a.m. to noon. Whether a veteran swimmer or new to open water swims, there are options for everyone with half-, one-, and two-mile distance options. For those under 8, there will also be a Kids Splash for children to play along the beach under supervision. Participants will get the chance to dive in alongside former Olympic swimmers, including Janel Jorgensen McArdle, Alex Meyer, Craig Beardsley, Bobby Hackett, Lou Vitucci, Amy McGrath, and Ellen Owen. All proceeds from the charity swim benefit the David B. Perini Jr. Quality of Life Clinic at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute as well as Mass General for Children. The Perini Clinic at Dana-Farber provides care for pediatric cancer survivors and conducts research on how to help them live longer, better lives. This year, the clinic has its very own team, The Perini Clinic Paddlers, comprised of Dana-Farber staff, patients, families, and friends.
