Artful Connections:  Stories from the Dinner Table

Cheryl Perreault is a former resident of Hopkinton, MA and now lives in York, Maine. With a&nbsp;background in psychology and education, she has hosted many programs of poetry, storytelling and song for communities including 15 years as producer at HCAM-TV for Wake Up &amp; Smell the Poetry.&nbsp;&nbsp;Cheryl also is a poet and spoken word artist and has recorded two cds of&nbsp;her poetry accompanied by guitarist Steve Rapson.&nbsp; She&nbsp;is also co-editor with Cynthia Franca of two anthologies of community poetry including Hopkinton Through Poetry:Celebrating 300 Years and&nbsp; Hope Through Community: Words and Images in Response to a Global Pandemic.

Senior Smilez:  An Age and Dementia Friendly Event

Join us for a fun-filled hour of live theater performed by the Senior Smilez Theater Troupe. You enjoy seeing four different original plays.&nbsp;This is a free event supported partly by a grant from the Ayer, Brookline, Concord, and Hopkinton Cultural Councils, local agencies that the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency, supports.

John John Brown

Kerrville New Folk winner&nbsp;John John Brown&nbsp;brings giant hand-drawn comics to the stage. Titled&nbsp;Songs, Stories, &amp; Art— Lessons from Strangers,&nbsp;this original project weaves together storytelling songs and the visual arts in a live performance, creating an immersive experience for the listener. Throughout the performance, Brown takes the audience inside the lives of 14 unique characters while strumming his guitar and singing beside a projected graphic story. Unfolding is an imaginative and colorful world that reveals that all people, strangers alike, have a story we can learn from.

Sunday Jazz Jam

Please grab a cup of coffee and join us in our barn loft for an hour-long concert by the MetroWest Jazz Project, followed by a public jam session. The MetroWest Jazz Project is a collaboration of jazz musicians playing acoustic contemporary jazz featuring the unique sound of the vibraphone. The jam session welcomes amateurs and professionals of all ages and talents. It is a FREE event, but donations are appreciated.

A Hatful of Rain

Join the stellar cast from Enter Stage Left Theater as they bring this&nbsp;striking drama of love and addiction,&nbsp;A Hatful of Rain, to the stage. A soldier wounded in action who endures considerable pain becomes a drug addict, which takes a terrible toll on everyone close to him in this poignant drama.&nbsp;Celia and Johnny Pope live in a New York tenement with his brother Polo. As Johnny’s heroin addiction spirals out of control, Celia and Polo’s attraction and dependency grow.

Stinnett co-directs the company with her mentor, Dutch-Israeli choreographer Itzik Galili. Inspired by her work with multiple companies and choreographers in Europe, the UK, the US, and Canada, Jessie envisioned a company with a diverse artistic base collaborating with cutting-edge choreographers in an equity and acceptance setting. &nbsp; Since 2017, the company has presented over 72 workshops, open rehearsals, and performances to an audience of over 6,500 with presenting partners Global Arts Live, Jacob’s Pillow, Harvard ArtLab, and many others.

HCA is proud to present its fourth annual Celebrity Spotlight on the Arts fundraising concert, featuring Grammy-award-winning artist Marc Cohn.&nbsp;This signature fundraiser presents a nationally recognized artist annually to support HCA’s missions and annual fund.&nbsp;The night includes an online auction, an open bar, light bites, and an unforgettable, intimate evening of music.&nbsp;You don’t want to miss this amazing event right here in Hopkinton!
