The Writer's Room

Join us for our official writers group! We will be meeting the second Tuesday of every month! Specifically tailored towards our storytellers. No RSVP necessary. Feel free to bring any project you're working on, whether it's a book, novel, chapbook, script, or textbook, we accept all! We will be implementing the pomodoro method. Meaning, there will be 15 minutes of quiet work time followed by a 5 minute break. We will jump between these two modes for about an hour and have an optional workshop at the end, where you can have your work read by fellow writers.&nbsp;There are limited outlets in our space so it is recommended to charge your device beforehand! Food &amp; Beverage will be available for purchase in the room.

Alchemised Release Party at Trident Booksellers

Join us on September 23rd to celebrate the publication of ALCHEMISED by SenLiYu. Gather with your fellow readers for a night of games, discussion, and prizes! Grab dinner, a drink, your Bellas (or Trebles) and relive the experience that is Pitch Perfect. Our full dining experience will be available for order in the room. Romance Book Club: Great Big Beautiful Life

Join us as we discuss Emily Henry's newest novel,&nbsp;Great Big Beautiful Life! Our booksellers will be curating a guided discussion for the group to follow throughout the night (we also accept submissions for questions!) Our book clubs are formatted with the purpose of meeting new people so please don't be afraid to come alone. Get in on the fun for September's book club! Your $5 ticket comes with a voucher that is useable on bookstore or cafe items on the night of the event. Seating begins at 6pm for those who wish to grab a seat/dinner early. The Great Escape: The Inheritance

Are you a fan of board games, brain teasers, puzzles, or escape rooms? Do you think you have what it takes to escape the room (envelope)? Join us for dinner and a mystery on Saturday, June 28th! We will be COMPETING to see what three teams can solve&nbsp;<a href="https://www.puzzlepost.com/en-us/">The Puzzle Posts</a>' "escape room in an envelope" first! You and your team will have an hour and a half try and solve the mystery in your envelope and the first three teams to finish will go home with prizes. (All other teams will still be given the time and space to finish theirs!) Don't miss this opportunity to put your problem-solving skills to the test!&nbsp; We will be playing&nbsp;<a href="https://www.puzzlepost.com/en-us/">The Puzzled Posts</a>' puzzle, The Inheritance! - Only the true heir to iaia Rosa's beloved Patisseria Sant Jordi will be able to crack the code and inherit the pastry shop. Camila is in a race against her family to save the shop from almost certain ruin but she can't do it on her own. Book Swap on Open Newbury

Drop by this Sunday for our first ever, outdoor book swap! This book swap will be grab and go style, so feel free to drop by anytime between 12pm and 3pm to find your next read! The swap tables will be located in front of Trident during Open Newbury! This book swap is in support of Women's Lunch Place. We will leave out slips for you to write down your recommendation for why you think someone should grab your pick and you will be able to see other people’s recommendations as well.  Please remember, there will be a three book limit per person. This is the perfect opportunity to meet fellow book lovers and find your final read of the Summer, don’t miss it! We will be donating all leftover books to Women's Lunch Place.

Nerd-Out Trivia

Avengers... Assemble! Trident is making an open call for all wizards, warriors, and wookies. Do you self identify as a nerd? Test your knowledge on all things fantasy, sci-fi, superheroes, and more! We will be covering a wide range of fandoms, so be sure to study up for this trek. Gather your fellowship and join us in a galaxy far far away (Trident Booksellers &amp; Cafe)! Dress-up/costumes are encouraged! Tickets are $7 online and $10 at the door.  Food &amp; Beverage are available for purchase in the room. This will be the same Nerd-Out Trivia as the one held on the 7th, please don't come twice.

Life Aquatic Movie Night

In the spirit of shark week, we will be screening Wes Anderson's iconic underwater adventure, Life Aquatic! Experience the star-studded film with a live audience on July 24 in the upstairs cafe. Wes Anderson fans can rejoice over classic and newbies can break into his discography with this classic. See you there! Food and beverage will be available for purchase in the room. Seating begins at 6:30pm. All Seating is first come, first serve. About the movie... Renowned oceanographer Steve Zissou (Bill Murray) has sworn vengeance upon the rare shark that devoured a member of his crew. In addition to his regular team, he is joined on his boat by Ned (Owen Wilson), a man who believes Zissou to be his father, and Jane (Cate Blanchett), a journalist pregnant by a married man.
