Join us as we watch Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey simultaneously fail at their goals AND fall in love. In this classic, a ladies man wagers a bet that he can make a woman fall in love with him in 10 days. Who more perfect than Kate Hudson's Andie? Little does he know, she also has placed a bet. She believes she can make a man leave her in 10 days! Chaos ensues as the pair both attempt to win their battles but can there ever be a winner when there are hearts on the line? It's the month of rom-coms! We will be celebrating Valentine's weekend with a Clueless Screening. Don't miss Paul Rudd's film debut in this cult classic. Whether this will be your first watch or millionth, the Trident audience guarantees a good time! And in conclusion, may I please remind you that it does not say "RSVP" on the statue of liberty? (But please actually RSVP if interested. RSVPs are to gauge interest but are not required to get into the screening. Seating is first come, first serve.) Join us for our new writers group! Specifically tailored towards our storytellers. Feel free to bring any project you're working on, whether it's a book, novel, chapbook, script, or textbook, we accept all! We will be implementing the pomodoro method. Meaning, there will be 15 minutes of quiet work time followed by a 5 minute break. We will jump between these two modes for about an hour and have an optional workshop at the end, where you can have your work read by fellow writers. Food &amp; Beverage will be available for purchase in the room. RSVPs are to gauge interest and not necessary to come to the event. Seating is first come, first serve.

Join us for our first Romance Book Club of 2025! This session will be focused on Emily Henry's newest book, Funny Story. Make sure you read the whole book in advance, there will be spoilers! The host will be leading groups in discussion about the book. Kick off the New Year with some new reads! Make new friends at our atypical book swap. You can bring up to 3 WRAPPED books to exchange. We will have slips for you to fill out with genre, tropes, etc. then you can display it. We will have brief mingling period to let people wander in then release groups to grab books. A few lucky raffle winners will receive extra books as well! We look forward to seeing you there. Food &amp; Beverage will be available for purchase in room. Sign ups are to gauge general interest for the event!

The Great Gatsby Screening

Start off the New Year right with our screening of The Great Gatsby! There is no where more perfect to experience the literary masterpiece that is The Great Gatsby. We will be meeting in the upstairs cafe for this instant classic. Seating will begin at 6:30pm. We try to use subtitles for all screenings, we will only skip the subtitles if there is an issue with our DVD. Food &amp; beverage will be served in the upstairs cafe.

Love Actually Screening

Get ready for the holidays with the Christmas classic, Love Actually! Fans and newbies alike will be watching the film together in our upstairs cafe. Join us for some seasonal sips and the ultimate Christmas Rom-Com. Seating begins at 6:30pm. Food &amp; beverage will be available for purchase in the upstairs cafe.

Storytime with the Grinch!

Join us for this very special story time with none other than... The Grinch! Our friend from the Boch Theater will be stopping by Trident during the Holiday Stroll to have story time in our event space, The Stacks. We will also be having a hot chocolate bar, children's book drive, holiday card making for charity, and a free gift wrapping station!&nbsp;

Holiday Trivia

Thanksgiving is OVER and it is officially time to get into the holiday spirit! We are kicking off snow season with a holiday themed trivia. We will be covering all things holiday (with a special focus on films and television!) Join us for some holiday cheer and spiked hot chocolate in the Stacks! Food and Beverage will be available for purchase. Refunds will be available on a case by case basis. Refunds can not be granted within 24 hours of the event.

Home Alone Screening

Now that Thanksgiving is over... we can officially get into the Christmas spirit! Join us for our Home Alone Screening this Saturday to kick off the holiday season. We will be in our upstairs cafe, enjoying some seasonal sips and celebrating this Christmas Classic! Seating starts at 6:30pm. Food &amp; Beverage will be available for purchase.

Friendsgiving Get-Together

Alone for Thanksgiving? Not anymore! Join us for first ever Friendsgiving get together. Those of us who are still in town for the holiday are going to gather in our upstairs dining room to play board games and watch the Thanksgiving episodes of Friends! We will also be adding some special Thanksgiving meals to the menu to make sure everyone gets the full experience. Come make new friends and enjoy the holiday with us. See you there! Murder Mystery: Time Warp

Murder Mystery Dinners are back! We will be celebrating this Halloween with a thrilling mystery titled "Time Warp." Dive into the world of suspense as you become part of the Time Travelers Committee! Participants must mingle to discover who is messing with the space-time continuum. Every participant will receive their own character sheet, with characteristics, secrets, goals, etc. to help you find the murderer amongst you! There are characters for everyone! Characters include celebrities, NASA, techies, and the famous Back to the Future gang! You will have a set period to acclimate to your character before an untimely discovery takes place – a murder! Can you solve the mystery in the knick of time? Don't miss out on Trident Booksellers and Cafe's "Time Warp" Murder Mystery Dinner! Each ticket will include dinner, a script, and a night full of mayhem. Each guest must purchase a ticket. Seating will begin at 6:30 pm. D﻿inner will be a "Mac-to-the-Future" Buffet (Mac n Cheese bar!), along with salad and dessert. Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. We will be playing the same game for all 2024 dates, please do not purchase a ticket twice! Refunds will be given on a case by case basis. Refunds will not be given within 48 hours of the event.
