Race to Cure Sarcoma

he Race to Cure Sarcoma (RTCS) Boston brings together hundreds of members of the community who have been impacted by sarcoma. We celebrate, honor, and remember those affected by this rare disease. Join us in the race today!  Date: April 6, 2025 Location:    Boston Common - Perimeter Pathway + Parkman Bandstand    139 Tremont Street       Boston, Massachusetts   Schedule: <ul><li>Registration &amp; Packet Pickup: 7:00am </li><li>Opening Ceremony: 8:00am</li><li>5K Timed Race Start: 8:30am</li></ul>Race Distances: 5K Run (timed) or 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk   Registration Fees:<ul><li>Adult: $35</li><li>Children (Age 6 - 12): $10</li><li>Children (Age 5 and under): FREE</li><li>All registered participants will receive a t-shirt and medal</li></ul>What is allowed at the event:<ul><li>Dogs (must remain on a leash at all times)</li><li>Strollers</li><li>Wheelchairs</li></ul>What happens if it rains:<ul><li>The event will take place rain or shine!</li></ul>

Fun Free Event that celebrates diversity &amp; culture with music, dancing, games, interactive activities, food truck and beer garden!&nbsp;Learn Bollywood &amp; Latin Dance, Henna Hand Painting, Children's Scavenger Hunt, Children's Book Author Reading/signing, LHS Jazz Combo, Arlington Brewing Company Beer, Bon Me Food Truck, Abbots Custard Sundaes. All activities are free. Food and drinks are available for purchase. Join us for this lively interactive event on the Lexington/Arlington town line. Food &amp; Drink<ul><li>Arlington Brewing Company Beer Garden&nbsp;(until 7:30pm)</li><li>Bon Me food truck: Asian inspired cuisine</li><li>Abbott’s Custard:&nbsp;Sundaes with pick your own topping</li></ul>Entertainment<ul><li>4pm&nbsp;Chinese Dance &amp; Song: Artisan Dance Academy will perform Chinese folk dances followed by vocal soloist Katie Chen.</li><li>5pm&nbsp;Sounds &amp; Moves of Bollywood!&nbsp;<a href="https://life.bollyx.com/instructor-spotlight-swasti-bhargava/" target="_blank">Swasti Bhargava</a>&nbsp;will teach attendees some Bollywood Style Dance moves followed by an opportunity to put your new steps to use!</li><li>6pm&nbsp;Latin Dance!<a href="https://www.dancecaliente.us/" target="_blank">&nbsp;Dance Caliente</a>&nbsp;(Raul Nieves and Eileen Herman-Haase) take the stage, leading us through the musical landscape of Cha Cha, Rumba, Argentine Tango, and other Latin styles!</li><li>7pm&nbsp;American Jazz: Round out our trip around the world with the Lexington High School Jazz combo treating us to great American Jazz!</li><li>Henna hand painting&nbsp;by Henna for Humanity offered from 5-7pm.</li><li>Author Readings of <a href="https://www.guatemalaaidfund.org/singing-beach-day-book.html“Singing Beach Day Book” &nbsp;" target="_blank">“Singing Beach Day Book” &nbsp;</a>&amp; related Scavenger Hunt! by the <a href="https://www.guatemalaaidfund.org/" target="_blank">Guatemala Aid Fund</a> 4:30, 5:30 6:30pm </li></ul>This festival is made possible with a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

Race to Cure Sarcoma Boston

5K Timed Run and 1 Mile Walk! Spend a beautiful Sunday morning on Boston Common as a runner, walker or volunteer while raising awareness &amp; much needed funding for Sarcoma research, clinical trials &amp; patient support. This is a premier running event as well as a family friendly event with kid's activities &amp; music. Strollers &amp; volunteers are welcomed! Sarcoma is a rare cancer accounting for 1% of all adult cancers and 15-20% of all childhood cancers.&nbsp;There are currently no FDA approved treatments for Sarcomas, and there is a huge need to financially support research towards the advancement of diagnosis and treatment methods. We hope you can join this amazing Sarcoma Foundation of America event that funds education and advocacy efforts on behalf of sarcoma patients as well as private grants for research focused on finding treatments to end Sarcoma.
