Fearless Friends Bravery Program 

The Baker Center for Children and Families is launching its new Fearless Friends Bravery Program, a one-week, intensive summer program designed to help children ages 3–9 build confidence, strengthen communication skills, and reduce symptoms of selective mutism and social anxiety. Led by licensed clinical psychologists, the program combines evidence-based therapy with engaging, school-like activities, including group sessions, caregiver-child participation, and real-world practice through community outings. With a 1:1 counselor-to-child ratio, participants receive individualized support in a structured and encouraging environment. Taking place this August at The Baker Center’s Mission Hill location, the program is designed to help children develop “brave speaking” skills and enter the school year with greater confidence and independence. Families will also gain practical strategies to support continued progress at home.

Celebrate the opening of La CASA with a community-centered afternoon of art, creativity, and connection.  This open house invites you to explore the space and participate in a series of hands-on arts workshops and cultural activities for all ages.  Throughout the afternoon, La CASA will be activated with rotating programming — from music and dance to interactive workshops — offering something for everyone to experience and enjoy. Whether you’re stepping into the building for the first time or returning to see it in action, this is an opportunity to engage with the space in a meaningful and welcoming way.  La CASA was built for community — and this day is all about making it yours.  Information:  <ul><li>Free and open to the public </li><li>Family-friendly programming </li><li>Activities will take place throughout the building and outdoor areas (weather permitting) </li><li>We encourage guests to use rideshare or public transportation when possible. Join us for the official opening of La CASA with a special evening of live music that will bring the space to life for the very first time!&nbsp; This opening night concert marks the public debut of La CASA: the Center for the Arts,&nbsp;Self-determination&nbsp;and Activism — a new cultural home in Boston’s South End dedicated to artists, community, and creative expression.&nbsp; Known for his dynamic performances and deep roots in Afro-Caribbean musical traditions, Castrillo brings a vibrant, high-energy sound that embodies the spirit of the Caribbean and its diasporas. As the first major performance in&nbsp;the space, this concert sets the tone for La CASA as a place where culture is not only preserved, but lived, shared, and evolved.&nbsp; Be part of this historic moment as La CASA opens its doors through music, rhythm, and collective celebration.&nbsp;

Breaking Through Stigma: Community Health Fair

Breaking Through Stigma: Community Health Fair invites community members, advocates, volunteers, and organizations to come together for a meaningful day dedicated to reducing HIV/AIDS stigma and expanding access to care through education, dialogue, and connection.&nbsp; Hosted at The Baker Center for Children and Families’ Mission Hill office, the&nbsp;event will feature resource sharing from trusted community organizations working to end the HIV/AIDS epidemic, lived experience talks highlighting powerful personal stories that center hope and resilience, and live performances celebrating creativity, culture, and joy. Attendees will also have access to confidential testing and on-site linkage to care, providing direct connections to support services and ongoing resources.&nbsp;
