Come celebrate love with GBH! Bring a date, friend, or your squad to a night of craft cocktails, local treats, and stories inspired by love on the theme of “What I did for Love”. Then, take a seat on the set of&nbsp;Stories from the Stage&nbsp;and enjoy stories on the extraordinary—and sometimes ridiculous—things our tellers have done for love. The Ulysses Quartet at Boston Public Library (February 2025)

Join GBH Music's quartet in residence, the Ulysses Quartet, for a performance at the Boston Public Library! Tickets are free, but registration is encouraged. Program: HAYDN String Quartet in E-flat Major, Op. 33, No. 2, “Joke” DANISH TRADITIONAL (arr. Danish String Quartet):&nbsp;Drømte Mig En Drøm DVORÁK String Quartet No. 14 in A-Flat Major, Op. 105 About the Ulysses Quartet: The Ulysses Quartet has been praised for their “textural versatility,” “grave beauty” and “the kind of chemistry many quartets long for, but rarely achieve” (The Strad). Founded in 2015, the group won the grand prize and gold medal in the senior string division of the 2016 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition and first prize in the 2018 Schoenfeld International String Competition. The quartet’s members hail from Canada, the United States and Taiwan. They have performed in such prestigious halls as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Jordan Hall, the Picasso Museum in Málaga and Washington’s National Gallery of Art among many others. At Juilliard from 2019 to 2022, they were the Lisa Arnhold Fellows, serving as the School’s Graduate Resident String Quartet for 3 years. The group’s name pays homage to Homer’s hero Odysseus and his 10-year voyage home. The members of Ulysses perform on instruments and bows on loan from the Maestro Foundation and private donors.

GBH Music Presents JazzNOW with TRIAD

GBH Music and JazzBoston kick off the 2025 JazzNOW series with a celebration of Hermeto Pascoal, one of Brazil's most iconic and genre-defying composers. This mesmerizing Latin jazz performance features TRIAD, a powerhouse trio that brings together three world-class musicians: multi-Grammy award-winning Peruvian bassist Oscar Stagnaro, acclaimed pianist Maxim Lubarsky, and multi-Grammy and Latin Grammy award-winning drummer Mark Walker. Renowned for their mastery of Latin jazz and improvisational brilliance, the trio will explore Pascoal's rich repertoire and adventurous spirit, blending his lush harmonies, dazzling rhythms, and intricate melodies with fresh interpretations. For this special performance, TRIAD is joined by renowned Puerto Rican saxophonist Edmar Colón. GBH Music Holiday Spectacular 2024

Celebrate the season with the GBH Music Holiday Spectacular, a family-friendly concert and an opportunity for music lovers to be part of a live television production at GBH’s headquarters in Brighton. Hear holiday music from the Renaissance and beyond, including festive jazz favorites with a harp and violin duo from the Boston Pops; a mesmerizing blend of voice, baroque harp, and harpsichord, with soprano Amanda Forsythe and members of the Boston Early Music Festival Vocal and Chamber Ensembles; Fabiola Méndez, a captivating vocalist and Puerto Rican cuatro player; the Rich Greenblatt Group, a dynamic vibraphone jazz trio; Voices Boston, an inspirational children’s choir led by Dan Ryan; and the Boston University Trumpet Ensemble, injecting a little festive brass into the mix. GBH's Calderwood Studio will be decorated in the spirit of the season, as we salute the beginning of winter and revel in the harmony and warmth of this time of year with traditional carols and unique seasonal compositions. <a href="https://www.classicalwcrb.org/people/greg-ferrisi">Greg Ferrisi</a>, host of CRB Classical 99.5's afternoon drive, hosts this one-of-a-kind holiday experience. An Afternoon with Jacques Pépin

You are invited to attend an exclusive event with legendary French chef, Jacques Pépin--author, television personality and educator. Jacques will be live in the GBH Studios. The wide-ranging conversation, led by James Beard award-winning chef and restauranteur Jody Adams, will touch upon Jacques’s career and culinary experiences cooking in some of the finest French restaurants in the world. Guests will learn more about their friendship with chef and GBH television personality Julia Child, and Jacques's involvement in a dozen PBS television programs and much more! The event will be moderated by Callie Crossley, host of Under the Radar with Callie Crossley, correspondent and co-host of The Culture Show and commentator on Morning Edition.
