The Festival of Italian Creativity

From November 14 to 22, the Consulate General of Italy in Boston is launching “The Festival of Italian Creativity”, an amazing range cultural events (music, cinema, art, literature and theater), science, technology and business seminars, Italian language labs, food tastings, inspirational guests and much more!&nbsp;All of the events and programs in the Festival, organized in cooperation with the October Italian American Heritage Month Committee of Massachusetts, are open to the public and FREE of charge with registration. The 11th Boston Design Week will take place April 23-May 5, 2024, featuring 60+ in-person, virtual and outdoor events citywide, including the annual Design Week Awards, Thursday, May 2nd. This 12-day design festival offers renowned guest speakers, panel discussions, exhibitions, and more hosted by design-oriented businesses, universities, museums, non-profit organizations, and professional societies.  Most events are free of charge with registration, and all events must be open to the public.   This year’s festival theme is “Designing for the future – Preserving for the Future”. Designers must anticipate the future: the festival organizers seek events in all categories and in all fields of design that look to the future whether in new design or in preserving and protecting historic design. In addition to possibly receiving a Special Focus designation (see below) events that reflect this theme will receive special consideration for scheduling and visibility during the festival. 24th Annual Boston International Fine Art Show

The 24th Annual Boston International Fine Art Show takes place October 20-23, 2022, at The Cyclorama, Boston Center for the Arts, 539 Tremont Street in the South End. How does a city and landscape artist widely exhibited and collected by the Met and the Whitney in the 1920s and 1930s, disappear after a World War II crisis of faith into a spiritual journey far from New York’s art scene?  Mark Baum's search for the “element” was prescient of the digital age, a spiritual algorithm he explored through planes of color and form. He created a hand-drawn, dynamically shaped ‘pixel’ repeated in large-scale compositions that vibrate with the color and movement of fractal photography or resonate like mandalas in an awe-inspiring universe.  Join the Director of the Mark Baum Estate and a guest curator as they chart the course of the artist’s amazing career.
