Forest Bathing & Nature Therapy

Esplanade Association River Fit presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield Massachusetts Join us for Forest Bathing &amp; Nature Therapy with Cole Huang! In this FREE class, we will slow down and fully experience nature with all our senses. Nature therapy is the practice of immersing yourself in a natural setting and noticing the sights, sounds, textures, and details around you. It is inspired by the Japanese concept of shinrin yoku, meaning “forest bathing,” which describes being surrounded by and absorbed in the atmosphere of the forest. We’ll engage in guided meditation and activities designed to deepen our connection with the natural world and awaken our senses. This class does not require any materials, but please bring water and wear weather-appropriate clothing and sun protection. The class does involve moving along paths and you may wish to venture off the path, so please wear appropriate footwear. Zumba with Healthworks

Esplanade Association River Fit presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield Massachusetts Join us on the Esplanade for Zumba led by Healthworks at the Hatch Shell! Fusing Latin and international music with easy-to-follow dance moves, Zumba workouts are high-energy fun for all age groups. Healthworks instructors will lead you through movements that combine fast and slow rhythms, offering both interval training and resistance training. Mix up your routine and come dance the night away with us on the Esplanade! Water will be available on-site, but please bring your own water bottle to reduce waste. Join the <a href="http://esplanade.org/">Esplanade Association</a> and <a href="http://bostonmusicproject.org/">Boston Music Project</a> at the Esplanade Playspace for Music &amp; Movement, an interactive program for children and families! Music &amp; Movement is a summer-long, interactive music program at the Esplanade Playspace designed for children and their caregivers. Each week, children will sing songs, dance to music, and enjoy storytime led by trained Boston Music Project teaching artists. Caregivers are encouraged to attend and take part. When registering, caregivers should select tickets for both themselves and their child/children. International Moves and Food

Join the Esplanade Association for International Moves and Food, led in partnership with <a href="https://www.bostondancealliance.org/">Boston Dance Alliance</a>, a summer program celebrating cultural dancing on the Esplanade! Professional artist educators will teach you the steps to a different cultural dance each week. Move, learn, connect to dances you might not have experienced before! After you learned some new steps, you can enjoy free food and beverages from a local restaurant, all celebrating the dance’s culture! Forever Fit Pop-Up

Join us on the Esplanade for Forever Fit with Cindy Sullivan, presented in partnership with <a href="https://www.beaconhillvillage.org/">Boston Village</a>. This fun, outdoor class on Fiedler Field will include a full-body workout designed with the needs of midlife and older adults in mind, perfect for all levels. We’ll focus on functional fitness to help you build strength, improve balance, and increase mobility - all to support the way you move and feel every day. Every exercise is thoughtfully selected to promote strength, bone health, posture, joint health, and safe, efficient movement. Class includes low-impact cardio, strength training with body weight and resistance bands, balance and flow work, and gentle stretching to finish. Please bring water, a towel, and a resistance band - we’ll have extras available if you need one. A limited number of chairs will be provided for support or seated options during class. Guided Bird Tour on the Esplanade

The Esplanade Association, in partnership with <a href="https://www.brooklinebirdclub.org/">Brookline Bird Club</a>, will be leading a leisurely guided bird walk along the park – great for beginners and experts alike! We will walk around 1 mile, identifying birds and learning how to use binoculars and field guides. All Guided Bird Tours will meet outside <a href="https://maps.app.goo.gl/UWt9Bsqi24CUmpzC7">Community Boating</a>'s main entrance. We will walk along the Charles River Esplanade from the Longfellow Bridge upriver looking for birds on both land and water. We hope to see a range of spring migrants as well as year-round natives and birds setting up their breeding territories. River Fit 2025: Women's Runs with 261 Fearless Club

261 Fearless Club New England is proud to partner with the Esplanade Association as part of their River Fit Fall Series. We are a global women’s run group (ages 18+) dedicated to empowering and connecting women through movement. Our mission is to create a supportive, non-competitive space where women uplift each other and build confidence, strength, and fearlessness — one stride at a time. Join us for weekly jogs led by a certified 261 coach. These 45-minute sessions are designed for all fitness levels — whether you’re new to running or looking for a motivating group experience. Together, we’ll explore the scenic paths of the Esplanade. We highly encourage participants to register using this <a href="https://events.humanitix.com/jogs-with-261-fearless-club">link</a>.
