Climate Change in the Courts

Join us for an event focused on recent and ongoing litigation in the courts on climate change issues, led by the Emmett Environmental Law & Policy Clinic at Harvard University. This is a big year for climate change lawsuits. In fact, the very first case the Supreme Court will hear this term is Suncor Energy v. County Commissioners of Boulder County. That case considers whether federal laws prevent states and municipalities from suing corporations for harms caused by climate change. Separately, a case challenging EPA’s rescission of the “Endangerment Finding”—the basis for a host of federal regulations limiting greenhouse gas emissions—is winding its way through the federal courts. In addition, learn about the Swiss Seniors who took a climate change case to the European Court of Human Rights. Harvard Law student volunteers working with the Clinic will present on these cases, discuss their potential ramifications, and preview related litigation. All are welcome! Come mingle, have food and drink, and learn about climate change issues and the law! Doors open at 7pm; presentation starts at 7:30pm

Patagonia Cambridge

Community Yoga with Lucie

Join us for some FREE yoga with local instructor Lucie Kasova. Grab your friends and a yoga mat and meet us at Patagonia Cambridge for a free yoga session catered to welcoming all skill/experience levels. These classes are first come, first served, but it is helpful to RSVP. It lets us know how many people to expect! They are also BYOM (bring your own mat). Per usual, we'll have some light refreshments available after the class ends.

Climbing Recovery Yoga

Join us and instructor Grace Yang on October 22nd for a FREE yoga class designed to aid climbing recovery and performance. The class will be centered around full-body mobility and flexibility, with the goal of opening up the neck, shoulder, spine, and hips. All ages and abilities are welcomed and are encouraged to join. Local climbing expert, Cindy Su, will also be in store representing Brown Girls Climb and the Summit in Color Collective, two local affinity groups working to increase access to climbing and outdoor spaces for under-represented groups. Doors open at 7pm, class starts at 7:15pm, and be sure to bring your own mat. Light refreshments will be available after class.

Protect Public Lands!

Utah has some of the most spectacular scenery on the face of the planet and nowhere is that more evident than at Bears Ears and Grand Staircase Escalante National Monuments. These magnificent lands were protected as National Monuments by Presidents Obama and Clinton respectively. Recently President Trump has illegally eviscerated both of them by over 90%. Join us for a presentation led by wildlife photographer, Harvey Halpern to see what could be lost in these lands which are extraordinarily rich in Cultural Resources, paleontology and wildlife. Additionally, learn what you can do to protect these iconic landscapes. Doors open at 7pm; food, drinks, and a chance to win some Patagonia gear will be available inside.

Wild Turkey x CRWA Halloween Run Club

We're teaming up with the Charles River Watershed Association (CRWA) for a special Halloween edition of the Wild Turkey Run Club. Grab your friends, your running shoes, and meet us at the Patagonia Cambridge store at 9:30am on Saturday, October 31st for a 3–4-mile run along the Charles. No drop, all speeds welcome, costumes encouraged, good times guaranteed. Don't be intimidated—we're just a bunch of turkeys! After the run, we'll have some snacks, drinks, and a chance to win some Patagonia gear! Route: Just about 3.75 miles along the Charles--with an option to shorten the loop to roughly 2 miles by crossing the river at the Harvard Bridge. Preview the "Wild Turkey" route on Strava (https://www.strava.com/routes/3246157785006117924). You can also join our Strava Club to stay up to date with our runs and other activity-focused events. Accessibility: There are restrooms available at the store before and after the run. All running paces welcome, however, we expect the main group to run at a 9 - 10-minute pace. We can break into groups as needed. The trail is primarily flat pavement, with the only incline as you approach the bridges.
