Beginner Woodburning

Woodburning combines drawing and sketching skills with the ancient practice of using heat to discolor wood permanently to create lasting images.&nbsp;This workshop is appropriate for beginners who have never tried this fulfilling craft but want to try it before committing to the equipment and space.&nbsp;&nbsp;It is also perfect for Father's Day or team building activities. In this workshop, we will use proper woodburning techniques to burn images into two wooden coasters and seal them against water damage.&nbsp;We will cover important topics including:<ul><li>Wood selection</li><li>Woodburner types and tips</li><li>Temperature settings</li><li>Outline vs. Shading</li><li>Design recommendations for beginners</li></ul>Materials:&nbsp;All tools are provided along with 2 blank solid wood coasters (4"x4") Min. Quilting 101 (A Fabric Stash Buster!)

Have you ever wanted to make a quilt but don't know where to start?&nbsp;Do you love sewing straight lines but ran out of interesting project ideas?&nbsp;In this workshop, we will dive into the world of quilting with a fresh perspective and help you find new inspiration to use your fabric stash or remnants! You will walk away with inspiration and a newfound confidence to keep going!&nbsp;The goal is to learn about quilting, basic techniques and make your own quilt block (at least 1). New to sewing or would like to try your hand at a wearable project?&nbsp;This Apron sewing workshop is the perfect intro to sewing.&nbsp;Learn the basics of using a sewing machine, pattern and make your own stylish apron!&nbsp;The topics covered include:<ul><li>Fundamentals of using a sewing machine</li><li>How to use a pattern</li><li>What's seam allowance</li><li>Right side vs. Wrong side of fabric</li><li>Overstitch and reverse stitch</li></ul>Choose from a selection of fun fabric prints or bring your own.&nbsp;If you decide to bring your own fabric, please plan for 1.5yards of non-stretchy fabric.&nbsp;Cotton, canvas or flannel should all work well.&nbsp;Avoid anything extra thick or synthetic such as vinyl or faux leather.&nbsp;These will not work with our sewing machines and are also difficult to work with for beginners. Bonsai 101

Come join a Master Gardener and learn about the ancient art of Bonsai, its history, fun facts and myth busters! Attendees will get hands on and creative with planting their very own bonsai tree!  We will show you all the crucial steps needed (and why) to transition a bonsai-tree-in-training into its first real bonsai pot, and provide tips for care so that it will flourish for years to come. Each guest ticket should be accompanied by a full-priced ticket. Thank you! Sea Wave Resin Serving Tray

In this tactile workshop, we will be discussing the ins and outs of resin art and create an eye-catching and functional serving tray. Under the guidance of your artist host, you will cost an Acacia wood tray with resin, add dye, and work in mini bubbles (aka sea waves). This piece will be a conversation starter and perfect for a Father's Day treat, or something cool to display around the house.
