Neponset Greenway Bike Tour + Art Activation

Join us for a group bike ride along the Neponset River Greenway followed by artmaking at Victory Road Park. We will make several stops along the Greenway at iconic sites in Mattapan and Dorchester to learn about the rich history along the Neponset River. Refreshments will be served at the terminal point, along with music and a relaxing art activity. Queering the Tarot

Participants will review some basics about the spiritual practice of tarot and explore the concept of queering the tarot through group discussion and hands-on practice with tarot reading. Our conversation will be centered on the book <a href="https://parksidebookshop.com/item/ZUCHLFAE2FvVLL6rvO7d1A">Queering the Tarot by Cassandra Snow</a>.<ul><li>"In Queering the Tarot, Cassandra Snow deconstructs the meanings of the 78 cards explaining the ways in which each card might be interpreted against the norm. Queering the Tarot explores themes of sexuality, coming out, gender and gender-queering, sources of oppression and empowerment, and many other topics especially familiar to not-straight folks."</li><li>You are invited to bring your tarot deck(s) or any other resources that you'd like to use and share with the group. Inspired by Audre Lorde’s “The Uses of Anger” and “Uses of the Erotic,” we will explore the uses of revenge as a motivator for liberation. In this workshop, we will work through exercises to translate our imageries of vengeance into writing: through narratives and poetry, ransom letters and manifestos. The creativity, vulnerability, and truth of your experiences are needed, if only for one evening. No previous writing experience required. We want to make space to navigate dark themes without feeding judgement or shame. Be responsible for your own well-being. This workshop is BIPOC and queer-led and prioritizes the protection of BIPOC, queer, and trans people. Attending this workshop means taking care of yourself and your neighbors. Revenge is sweet, so there will be cake.
