Come celebrate extraordinary young vocal artists in a joyous culmination of their  choral season! The GRAMMY® award winning National Children’s Chorus guides students to find their voice and achieve their best in an extraordinary musical environment. The spring concert highlights NCC’s singers’ talents and achievements and showcases each stage of their extraordinary vocal training progression. Audition for National Children’s Chorus Boston Chapter!

The Boston chapter of the GRAMMY award winning National Children’s Chorus is holding auditions for students, ages 5 to 17, on Sunday, May 5 at 7pm ET through the end of the month. Auditions are held via Zoom. The audition fee for the whole process, including a private one-on-one evaluation, is $45. Apply now to book an audition and attend the online information presentation on Sunday, May 5.&nbsp; The initial Zoom meeting will be a live information session about NCC. Applicants will also select an appointment for their one-on-one private video audition with one of NCC’s conductors. Boston classes and rehearsals are in North Brookline on Tuesday evenings. The National Children’s Chorus guides students to find their voice and achieve their best through unparalleled vocal training in an extraordinary musical environment. Through the NCC, students get to connect and collaborate with their peers nationwide. The organization consists of 33 choirs based in the chapter cities of Los Angeles, New York, Washington D.C., San Francisco, Austin, Dallas, Boston, and Chicago. Instructors work weekly with students to develop their vocal skills from the most basic concepts through the college level. Students develop tone quality, breath support, and artistic expression while working together as an ensemble. In the Junior Division of the Boston Chapter, students who are ages 5-9 and have beginning or intermediate musical experience build their skills and gain confidence in encouraging and creative rehearsal environments and performances. The Junior Division audition will consist of the following elements: scales, rhythmic exercises, and pitch matching. In the Senior Division of the Boston Chapter, students who are ages 10-17 and have some prior musical experience, refine their skills. The Senior Division audition will consist of scales, rhythmic exercises, and a solo piece which will be sung a capella, though a starting pitch may be requested. Suggested pieces include "Caro Mio Ben" or "The Star-Spangled Banner". Each chorister learns the same repertoire at each level and is uniformly trained so that members may participate in any concert across the nation and essentially design their own concert season. Students will be part of world premieres and collaborate with an exceptional roster of professional artists. National Children's Chorus Winter Showcase Boston

Kick off the holidays with a joyful and soul-stirring concert performed by the GRAMMY award winning National Children's Chorus, “a truly ethereal sound” (Gramophone). The Boston concert will features students ages 5-18 offering an extraordinary performance of a brand-new winter collection of songs that inspire gratitude, mindfulness, and self-knowledge. The program includes the Spanish Traditional "Arre Borriquito," "Always Sing Your Song" by Victor C. Johnson, "Somewhere in My Memory" by John Williams &amp; Leslie Bricusse; "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" by Ralph Blane; "Winter" by Anthony Giamanco &amp; Walter de la Mare, and "The Christmas Song" by Mel Tormé &amp; Robert Wells. NCC knows how kids thrive. The organization guides over 1,100 students nationwide to find their voice and achieve their best through unparalleled vocal training in eight U.S. chapter cities (New York City, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., San Francisco, Austin, Dallas, Boston and Chicago). Under the leadership of Luke McEndarfer and Pamela Blackstone, they perform on the world's leading stages and work with world-class artists. Each choir member receives the same training and learns the same repertoire and breath marks so that any member may participate in any concert. NCC last came to international attention when they performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic &amp; Gustavo Dudamel on the 2022 GRAMMY winning album (best choral performance) Mahler: Symphony No. 8. The festive December concert marks the start to the group’s 120th anniversary season where the group will launch a new chapter city, exponentially expand its scholarship program, and set off on an eighth international tour. As a preview of the season, the NCC released the album Illumine on Lexicon Classics recorded at Abbey Road Studios and AIR Studios in London last summer, in collaboration with the London Symphony Orchestra. The album highlights holiday music from different countries, cultures, and traditions around the world resulting in an exquisite musical collection — a diverse, world-encompassing array of holiday expressions by underrepresented voices in choral music.
