Song of the Earth (Das Lied von der Erde)

An exploration of nature and the cycles of life at BLO’s Opera + Community Studios. In Schoenberg’s arrangement of Gustav Mahler’s Song of the Earth, we encounter a meditation on mortality and rebirth, composed in the shadow of profound personal tragedy. Drawing from ancient poetry, Mahler weaves aching beauty with existential yearning fusing his career-long themes of nature and the cycles of life.   Brandon Jovanovich’s appearance is supported by Katie and Paul Buttenwieser. Raehann Bryce-Davis’ appearance is supported by Winfield and Linda Perry.
