Selvage "Feast or Famine"; Pollans "Threshing"

Pollans exhibition features an eclectic mix of polychrome sculptures fashioned in wood, as well as drawings on plywood, masonite, slate, and steel. Toggling between the dimensions, figure versus ground, and the natural versus the decorative, Pollans offers engaging compositions in which figures, birds, and the intertwining of limbs are the focus.

While embracing the bounty of this harvest season, Selvage’s installation exhibits an acute awareness that social and climate conditions deny many its fruits. Evoking both abundance and deprivation, Selvage juxtaposes cornucopias, a ghost garden, a luxurious banquet, and a barren plateau.
