A Colorful Christmas on Castle Hill

Visiting Castle Hill at Christmas is a time-honored tradition. Don’t miss this year’s festival of color. Each room in our 1920s mansion is decorated with a different vibrant color scheme. Enjoy freshly baked cookies and hot chocolate, try the Crane holiday eye spy, and shop in the Castle Hill Gift Shop during your visit. Timed entry will limit the number of guests for the comfort and safety of guests and staff. Advance reservations are strongly recommended. Children ages 4 and under are admitted free; ages 5-14 receive the discounted child rate of $9. Christmas at Castle Hill runs Fridays, November 29, December 6, 13, and 20, 4-8PM; Saturdays, November 30, December 7, 14, and 21, 10AM-4PM (sensory-friendly hours 10AM-11:30AM except on November 30); Sundays, December 1, 8, 15, and 22, 10AM-4PM (sensory-friendly hours 10AM-11:30AM except on December 1); and December 26-29, 10AM-4PM. Accessibility: The Grand Stair has 30 steps. We’re sorry, but there is no elevator. There will be a digital picture display of second floor museum rooms for guests unable to climb the stairs.

The Harrington Circus at Castle Hill

Mr. Harrington cordially invites you to a wondrous adventure at Castle Hill! Transport yourself to the charm of the 1910s at the Harrington Circus this fall.&nbsp;<ul><li>Step into nostalgia with old-fashioned games, contests, and races, and learn circus tricks from professional performers.</li><li>Explore the Grand Allee Midway for magical surprises and activities that await inside the booths!</li><li>Stroll&nbsp;through a world of wandering performers, side shows, games, and thrilling staged performances including juggling and aerial acrobatics!</li></ul>Mr. Harrington will open the circus promptly at 1 PM, enchanting guests until 4 PM. Professional circus acts will dazzle at the Casino stage, while the Great House terrace hosts mesmerizing magic acts and more throughout the afternoon. Between performances, explore the sideshow tents filled with surprises, accompanied by strolling musicians and magicians adding to the atmosphere of discovery and delight. Delicious fare from onsite vendors include BBQ, sandwiches, snacks, and ice cream. For adults, beverages from Mill River Winery, True North Ales, and 1634 Meadery will also be available for sale. Children 3 and under are admitted Free. This event is rain or shine. If the event must be cancelled because of severe weather, an email will be sent by 9AM on September 22 and tickets will be refunded.

Castle Hill Productions presents Shakespeare's As You Like It, a light-hearted comedy of love and disguise! Can Rosalind and Orlando find true love in spite of insurmountable obstacles?! Of course they can, but there will be silly twists and turns along the way. Join the band of noble exiles on a sojourn into the Forest of Arden, where the natural world brings healing and happiness to everybody.

Deadwick's Ethereal Faire

A brand new experience awaits you at Deadwick's Ethereal Faire, as the casino complex at Castle Hill becomes a magical market featuring over 60 vendors of arts and crafts to fascinate and transform you; food by Portsmouth's Fezziwig to fill you; tarot readers, costumed characters, face painting, antique tin-type photography, and more to make your visit unforgettable. And if that's not enough, there will also be shows (for an additional fee) featuring magicians, circus performers and more!&nbsp; A family friendly daytime atmosphere will become more grown-up as the sun goes down, and the night market, costumes, and entertainment take a turn for the adventurous. Ale and mead will be available for purchase as well as Fezziwig's dinner and snack foods.&nbsp;

Theatre in the Great House at Castle Hill on the Crane Estate! This fresh twist on Oscar Wilde’s comic masterpiece is Set in the 1920s -- this time it’s the women’s turn to lead double lives... and pay the price!

The Harrington Circus

Mr. Harrington cordially invites the public to a wondrous adventure at Castle Hill! A popular neighborhood circus that delighted young and old on Argilla Road in the 1910s inspired this brand-new Harrington Circus with wandering performers, side shows, games, and exciting staged performances — juggling, aerial acrobatics, and more!  Guests can participate in old-fashioned games, contests, and races and learn circus tricks from professional performers. Who knows what magical surprises await inside the booths on the Grand Allee Midway!  1910s costuming is encouraged, but not required. Snacks from onsite vendors Q’s Nuts and Del’s Lemonade and adult beverages from Mill River Winery, True North Ales, and 1634 Meadery will be for sale.

Theatre in the Great House: 'ART' by Yasmina Reza

Staged in the Great House Ballroom, ‘ART’ explores the relationship between three friends when one of them acquires an expensive piece of modern art. This witty comedy challenges the idea of value… in art as well as in friends. ‘ART’ is presented without intermission. Run time is approximately 90 minutes. ASL interpretation will be available at the following performance: <ul><li>Sunday, March 26 at 6PM</li></ul>After purchasing tickets, please contact Kristina Brendel at <a href="mailto:kbrendel@thetrustees.org">kbrendel@thetrustees.org</a> to reserve viewing access of ASL interpretation during performance.
