Zipcar 25th Anniversary Pop-Up Block Party

Ahead of the official start to summer, Zipcar, the world’s leading car-sharing network headquartered in Boston, is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a pop-up block party, creating space for people, not cars. Through sharing a Zipcar, up to 13 personally-owned vehicles are eliminated from city streets, reducing congestion, pahking competition and carbon emissions helping to create a cleaner, greener Boston.<ul><li>What: Pop-Up Block Party with giveaways, games and green space for everyone</li><li>When: Monday, June 16, 2025, 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. (1:00 p.m. Ceremonial Cake Cutting) </li><li>Where: Calvin Place (street between Stillings Street and Thomson Place)</li></ul>Join us for a ceremonial 25th Anniversary cake cutting of a green VW Bug Zipcar (the original Zipcar launched in 2000) with Robin Chase, co-founder and former CEO of Zipcar, Angelo Adams, current head of Zipcar, local elected officials and Zipcar employees. Founded in Cambridge in 2000 (before smartphones, social media, ride-hailing and electric vehicles), Zipcar pioneered car sharing in the United States and has reinvented how cities move by providing convenient access to a vehicle.
