Youth Learn to Row Day at Gentle Giant Rowing

Gentle Giant Rowing Club rows on the Mystic River in Somerville - convenient location right off of Rt 93! Our Fall Youth Season will begin on August 26th and will run until October 19th. Not sure about rowing? Come down to the Mystic River in Somerville on August 10th for this free event.&nbsp; No experience is necessary! &nbsp; Experienced rowers are also welcome.&nbsp; Our program is for rowers from 8th - 12th grade.&nbsp; For the Fall program, Youth Rowers take to the Mystic River Monday - Friday 4p-6p and GGRC rows out of the Blessing of the Bay Boathouse in Somerville.&nbsp; We’ll show you how to row on our RowErgs and then take you down to the Mystic River to take some strokes in our training barge or one of our boats.&nbsp; This is a great way to determine if rowing is right for you!&nbsp; Have experience and would like to see what rowing on the Mystic River is like?&nbsp; Come down and chat with our rowers. From 10am-12p, we’ll take rowers out on the Mystic - no registration is necessary. Rowing is the ultimate team sport and participants learn the value of teamwork as well as pushing themselves past perceived limitations.&nbsp; One aspect that is often overlooked is the way this forms relationships with teammates and a strong support system between rowers develops.&nbsp; Lessons learned on the water will stay with young rowers throughout their lives.&nbsp; One testimonial of this: "I just wanted to say how much we appreciate the GGRC program.
