Total Eclipse of the Park

On Monday, April 8th, 2024, Cambridge will be hit with a near-total solar eclipse (93.1% coverage). All are welcome to a viewing party in the grassy field of Kingsley Park, a section of Fresh Pond Reservation (250 Fresh Pond Parkway), where the festivities will be underway from 2pm to 4:40pm. Feel free to bring your own blanket or chair! &nbsp; What can you expect?<ul><li>Live music by local folk band Trail Mix from 2:30-4:30pm</li><li>Free commemorative eclipse glasses (ISO safety certified)</li><li>Eclipse and astronomy-related experiments and displays</li><li>Educational resources, and new ways to appreciate this unique celestial event</li><li>Community togetherness and a sense of wonder!</li></ul>Timeline of the Solar Eclipse<ul><li>2:16pm - The Moon begins to touch the Sun</li><li>3:29pm - Peak of the Eclipse covers 93.1% of the Sun</li><li>4:39pm - The Moon fully passes to the other side</li></ul>
