) <a href="https://pipesofchristmas.com/">The Pipes of Christmas </a>is thrilled to announce its inaugural performance in Boston, an event dedicated to the memory of <a href="https://www.wgbh.org/news/local/2023-10-07/brian-odonovan-an-ambassador-for-celtic-music-and-irish-culture">Brian O’Donovan</a>, renowned host of the cherished “<a href="https://www.wgbh.org/shows/a-celtic-sojourn">A Celtic Sojourn</a>” for over two decades. This highly anticipated concert will take place on Thursday, December 12 at 7:30 PM at the <a href="https://www.oldsouth.org/homepage">Old South Church</a>, 645 Boylston Street. <a href="https://electricscotland.com/history/america/robert-currie.htm">Robert Currie</a>, producer of the show, expressed, “We are honored to welcome friends new and old to this year’s Pipes of Christmas performances — including at a new venue in Boston. Over 26 years, the concert has become an essential part of many of our concertgoers’ Christmas traditions, and we have another wonderful performance planned for everyone who is joining us in person or via our webcast.” Currie further noted, “Boston has long celebrated its Celtic roots through music, culture, and community, and Brian was a veritable institution in this endeavor. While we can never replace the ‘Celtic Sojourn’ experience, we will honor Brian’s legacy and love of Celtic traditions through our Boston performance. We are thrilled to join this vibrant tradition by bringing the Pipes of Christmas’ unique blend of music and storytelling to the city.” The concert is made possible with the support of Brian’s widow, Lindsay O’Donovan, who serves as the Honorary Chair for the Boston concert. “While nothing can ever replace the magic and warmth of our Celtic Sojourn gatherings, I am comforted in knowing that the spirit of Celtic music continues to thrive. Brian often said that the one thing he would hate most is for the "room to go silent,” Lindsay O’Donovan.  The lineup features <a href="https://stevegibb.com/">Steve Gibb,</a> <a href="https://www.facebook.com/JamesScotlandRobinson/">James Robinson</a>, <a href="https://www.caitlinwarbelow.com/">Caitlin Warbelow</a>, <a href="https://www.rachelclementeharpist.com/">Rachel Clemente</a>, and <a href="https://www.madelynmonaghan.com/">Madelyn Monaghan</a> among others, promising a captivating night of traditional and contemporary Celtic music. Proceeds from the event will support scholarships and cultural heritage initiatives by the <a href="https://learnedkindredofcurrie.com/">Learned Kindred of Currie</a>, including <a href="https://tartandayonellisisland.com/">Tartan Day on Ellis Island</a> and the development of a cultural heritage center in Scotland.  Brady Brim-DeForest of Balvaird, founding patron of the Boston concert, shares his excitement: “We are delighted to be able to bring this long-running Christmas production to Boston for the first time.”  Tickets are now available via EventBrite.
