Scenic RailRiders & Holiday Lights Tour | Concord, NH

Reg Tours Thu-Sun till Nov 1, 2026 Holiday Lights tours 11/20-12/20 Scenic RailRiders lets you pedal custom-built rail bikes along an abandoned stretch of railroad track in Concord, New Hampshire. The route runs on the last remaining section of the Northern Railroad, built in 1846. It passes through woods and farmland and crosses bridges along the Merrimack River on the way to Boscawen and back. Regular tours, through Sunday, November 1, 2026 Tours run Thursday through Sunday. The round trip is 6.2 miles and takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes. A guide shares local history along the way, and the turnaround stop is at the Hannah Duston Historic Site, where the Merrimack and Contoocook Rivers meet. Bikes come in two-seat and four-seat versions and are booked by the bike, not per person. Tours run rain or shine and are canceled only if conditions are dangerous. Holiday Lights Tours, November 20 to December 20, 2026 After a break in November, RailRiders comes back for evening Holiday Lights Tours on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. The shorter 2.3-mile route is lined with holiday lights and takes about an hour. A two-seat bike is $66 and a four-seat bike is $132. Dress warmly. Closing after this season 2026 is Scenic RailRiders’ final year in Concord. The City of Concord is buying the six-mile rail corridor from CSX to build the Merrimack River Greenway Trail, a walking and biking path. CSX plans to pull up the tracks in 2027. The business’s lease with the city runs until the tracks are removed or December 31, 2026, whichever comes first. Gary and Carolyn LeBlanc opened RailRiders in 2019, and it has since drawn more than 73,000 riders from all 50 states.
