Noir Detective Murder Mystery: Interactive Pub Crawl

What to Expect In this noir detective adventure pub crawl– inspired by the writings of Malden-born Erle Stanley Gardner and some real Malden history– you and your companions will be taking on the role of private investigators. You will visit four different bar/restaurant locations and meet a host of interactive characters, and interview them. Many of them will have pen &amp; paper puzzles that you can solve to further unlock clues about the case. At the end of your adventure, by analyzing the clues and motive, means, and opportunity, you will try and identify who is the culprit! Tickets are spread out in 15 minute increments beginning at 5pm with the event wrapping by 10pm. Choose the time slot for your group to show up and begin your adventure. Depending on the pace of your group it can take anywhere from 1 - 3 hours to complete. You set the pace based on how long you take to solve the challenges and linger at each location to enjoy food and drink. Story Overview It's August 3, 1935 in Malden, MA. There have been a rash of fires that have burned down several homes and businesses in the city's Suffolk Square neighborhood. In the most recent fire, police found a body. The victim was named Shamus Temper. He was a WWI veteran and partner in Temper &amp; Marks Investigations (or TMI), a Private Detective agency. He left behind a cryptex (6-letter cryptex) that his coworkers can't crack, but his partner Harry Marks believes it will contain a key to a safety deposit box that contains evidence regarding some crime he had been investigating. TMI has reached out to your group, another private investigation firm. Typically, your agencies are rivals, but for this case, you need to work together. You're meeting up with TMI's administrator, Madison Sykes, to get the details of the case that will let you begin your investigation. Your Role You and your fellow gumshoes (up to 8 in a group) are all Private Investigators from your own firm (you can make up the name of it). Locations This Pub Crawl takes you to multiple locations in downtown Malden connected to the historical murder that are also now conveniently drinking establishments! But this is not just a pub crawl! At each location you will encounter interesting characters who will present you with challenges and puzzles to solve to unlock the mystery behind the murder. Decide who to help, and see if you can solve the crime! Order of Locations:<ul><li>LOCATION 1: Pearl St. Station - 53 Summer St, Malden, MA 02148</li><li>LOCATION 2: Evviva Trattoria - 200 Exchange St, Malden, MA 02148</li><li>LOCATION 3: 3 Amigos - 375 Main St, Malden, MA 02148</li><li>LOCATION 4: Faces Brewing - 50 Pleasant St, Malden, MA 02148</li></ul>This is an easy 15-minute walking course and all locations are ADA accessible. There is plenty of parking in the area should you need to drive from one location to the next and accessible parking and entry to the spaces. -﻿--- This event is part of the Malden Summer Festival Program and is sponsored by the Office of Mayor Gary Christenson and the Malden Chamber of Commerce.
