City Winery Boston presents: Mother's Day Classic Jazz Brunch with Colescott &amp; His Red Hots live in concert Sunday, May 14th at noon! Come celebrate all the mothers in the world by enjoying great food and drink while listening to classic songs from the golden age of swing &amp; soul! Featuring hit songs made famous by Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, Louis Prima, Sam Cooke, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, Fats Domino, and others! Also joining us this time is a soulful powerhouse singer you won't want to miss: special guest Josh Witt! DANCERS WELCOME! Show 12–2pm, doors open at 11am. Advanced $20 / Day of show $25 (ticket link above) This is part of a monthly Sunday brunch residency at City Winery Boston and the next one is Sunday June 4th! Featuring the talents of: Colescott Rubin – upright bass/vocals/tuba Josh Witt – vocals/guitar Sophia Griswold – trombone John Lindsay – tenor sax Nika Ko – piano Lumanyano Mzi – drums ABOUT THE ARTIST: Colescott Rubin is a Boston-based award winning bassist/tubist/vocalist, vaudeville &amp; circus entertainer, dancer, songwriter, and educator. He has performed in many countries, including Argentina, Spain, Iceland, Mexico, &amp; Russia, and with Grammy-winning artists Esperanza Spalding, Patrice Rushen, Catherine Russell, and John Legend, among others. He’s currently on staff at Berklee College of Music, where he graduated on a Presidential Scholarship. His swing band “Colescott &amp; His Red Hots” has the same name as his grandfather’s band from the 1940s, taking inspiration from his great-grandfather, a New Orleans musician who played with Louis Armstrong over 100 years ago. Aside from the Red Hots, he tours with his musical family variety act, The Rubin Brothers. He just auditioned for America’s Got Talent, and later this year is releasing his first three records, directing the 8 piece brass band for a major league sports team, and making his circus debut as a unicycling multi-instrumentalist.
