Jamaica Plain's First Women Voters

After the 19th Amendment passed in 1919, Jamaica Plain women were eager to register to vote. Join members&nbsp;of <a href="https://www.boston.gov/departments/archives-and-records-management/mary-eliza-project-boston-women-voters-1920">the Mary Eliza Project</a>&nbsp;to learn about their work to transform Boston’s 1920 Women’s Voter&nbsp;Registers into a searchable dataset. Hear about the stories of Jamaica Plain women that they have uncovered during this process and learn how to use the free dataset for your own research! This talk will be held at <a href="https://northeastartspace.org/">Northeast Arts</a> which occupies the hall on the second floor of the Minton Building, the location where women in Ward 22 registered to vote in 1920. Please note that there is not an elevator and the stairs are quite steep. Also, the dance studio floor is precious so no street shoes are allowed on it. Booties will be available. You can still attend via Zoom if either of these is an issue! This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. It will be a hybrid event - so you can attend in person or via Zoom.
