Led by Andrew Putnam, FWS (Head Sommelier of VDV Select), this engaging session will pour a glass of knowledge alongside some truly exceptional tasting pours. What You Will Learn:<ul><li>The Geography: Discover the undeniable Atlantic influence, tracing the maritime winds and coastal weather patterns that define the mouth of the Loire River.</li><li>The Grape: Dive into Melon de Bourgogne, the underdog varietal that found its ultimate expression in this unique French region.</li><li>The Terroir: Experience the concept of terroir firsthand. We will discuss how granite, schist, and gneiss soils create the distinct minerality and structure of these coastal wines.</li><li>The Styles: Dispel the myth that Muscadet is just a simple patio wine. From vibrant, young releases to complex, lees-aged (sur lie) Crus that can cellar for decades, you will learn how to decode the labels and find the perfect style for your palate.</li></ul>Come ready to taste, learn, and discover exactly why sommeliers and winemakers around the world hold the Lower Loire in such high esteem!
