Front Beach on Sandy Bay | Rockport, MA 

Front Beach is an active beach on Sandy Bay pointing toward the east. The beach is also within an easy walk from the Rockport village, and from many of the inns and hotels nearby. There are lifeguards in the high season. Another nice thing is that it is near a number of restaurants, eateries and shops, so you can combine some beach time with browsing and dining. Get there via the MBTA Commuter Rail:<ul><li>Closest Commuter Rail station: Rockport</li><li>Take the Newbury/Rockport Line.</li></ul>Accessibility<ul><li>Appropriate for all ages</li><li>Parking Available</li></ul>State-Wide Beach Testing<ul><li>State-wide beach testing data and status (open/closed for swimming) are available.</li><li>Rockport's public beaches are tested regularly during the summer season (June to September) for bacterial contamination.</li><li>All of Rockport's beaches generally test safe for swimming. However, people should avoid playing in streams or creeks, particularly after heavy rain.
