Free & Cheap Water Taxis & Ferries Around Boston Harbor: Summer 2024

Note: The Boston Launch Company Boat Shuttle Service and the East Boston Ferry will be FREE through August 5, 2024 to help folks during the Sumner Tunnel closures! Navigating Boston Harbor by boat doesn't have to cost a dime. Explore the city's waterscape with these three free boat services, offering both practical commutes and scenic views across the Harbor. Learn the routes, schedules, and details of each service below! 1) <a href="https://www.mbta.com/schedules/Boat-EastBoston/timetable" target="_blank">East Boston Ferry</a> The MBTA runs the East Boston Ferry service from Long Wharf (Marriott Waterfront) to Lewis Mall Wharf (Tall Ship East Boston) for just $2.40 one way. 2) <a href="https://www.bostonlaunchcompany.com/" target="_blank">Boston Launch Company Boat Shuttle Service</a> Boston Launch Company began a free boat shuttle service in the summer of 2017. The water taxi connects four restaurants: Reel House Seaport, The Tall Ship, Reel House East Boston, and Pier 6 Charlestown. The service now costs $4 per ride.
