Dubbed "The Adult Treehouse" by Washingtonian Magazine, our enclosed and heated tropical oasis transports guests out of the city to a place where "Good Vibes Only" are the words to live by. El Techo, led by Hankins Hospitality, invites Washington, D.C. residents to enjoy its tropical, vacation-like ambiance on a heated 1,100-square-foot rooftop deck in the Shaw neighborhood. This versatile space can be enclosed or open-air, adapting to the weather. El Techo features handcrafted cocktails, Latin-inspired tapas, and entrees, all set against a backdrop of decorations sourced directly from Mexico. When owner Louie Hankins opened El Techo above Rito Loco, his burrito truck-turned-restaurant at 606 Florida Avenue NW, he described the space as “Instagram gold.” Experience El Techo's blend of vibrant Latin flavors and relaxing vacation vibes in the heart of Washington, D.C.
