WHO IS, WHAT IS DUPONT UNDERGROUND? Dupont Underground is an arts organization transforming 15,000 sqft of open abandoned space under Dupont Circle into a platform for creative exchange and contemporary arts in our vibrant city. We are committed to developing a multidisciplinary platform for creative expression and strive to reflect the diversity of our community – both artists and audiences. We endeavor to host projects and work that might not be an easy fit in more conventional venues. OUR MISSION Dupont Underground’s mission is to inspire and strengthen thought-provoking dialogue among local artists, designers, and the community and facilitate inspiring meetings between the local arts community and international contemporary art and culture worldwide. OUR VISION Dupont Underground’s vision is to utilize this special landmark to showcase DC's cultural identity, connect local and international arts communities, and amplify the voice of BIPOC, independent and upcoming talent in the District. Kung Fu &amp; Community Service: Celebrating 30 Years of Hung Tao Choy Mei - Oct 17 - Nov 9 October 18: GRAND OPENING: kung fu demos, lion &amp; dragon dancing, and more! Extended hours at DU: Open Sunday and weekdays (Sunday through Thursday) from 11:00am - 5:00pm Fridays and Saturdays will be open from 11:00am - 10:00pm (Closed October 31) Since 1995, Hung Tao Choy Mei Leadership Institute has brought martial arts, African drumming, traditional Chinese Lion and Dragon Dance, and Chinese musical instruments to Washington, DC.
