Chorus pro Musica presents Joseph Haydn's beloved oratorio The Seasons—a vibrant celebration of life's cycles through music. This joyful exploration of nature, community, and the rhythms of rural life inspired Beethoven's Pastoral Symphony.Completed in 1801 as Haydn's final major composition, The Seasons follows three country characters through Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter, painting vivid musical pictures of plowing fields, summer storms, autumn harvests, and winter firesides. The score brims with Haydn's famous wit and warmth, featuring rousing hunting choruses, a celebrated "tipsy fugue" during the wine harvest, and moments of serene beauty that capture the wonder of the natural world.<br>
