Book Club: Banned Together

Join Paper Trails & Tales, a Boston women’s book club, for our October meeting: An afternoon of bold books, big conversation & the freedom to read Banned Books Week is this week and we’re carrying it into our October meeting! We’re gathering at The Well Coffee House on Tremont Street to talk about the books people have tried to take off the shelves and why that keeps happening. Bring a banned or challenged book - one you’ve already read, are reading now, or have been meaning to get to! There are more of them than you’d think, and odds are good you’ve already read a few without knowing it. We’ll play banned books bingo, guess the real reasons books got pulled (some of them are unhinged), and get into a proper conversation about the freedom to read. Plus our usual book discussions, because there’s still no assigned reading here - any banned book counts. Not sure if yours counts? Bring it anyway, we’ll figure it out together. Everyone is welcome! 🍂 Fall walk beforehand: It’s our October tradition! Meet us at 2:30 PM at the Boylston T stop on Boston Common and we’ll wander through the Common and the Public Garden for the fall foliage before heading to the cafe together. Totally optional - feel free to meet us at the cafe at 3:00 instead. 📍 Location: The Well Coffee House, 78 Tremont St, Boston (the Tremont location, not State St!) 🗓️ Date & Time: Saturday, October 24th at 3:00 PM 📚 What to bring: Yourself and a banned or challenged book! ✨ PS: If it’s your first time joining us, send us an IG DM or email to RSVP (papertrailsntales@gmail.com) so we know to look out for you! Following us on Instagram (@ptt.bookclub) helps you stay updated – we’re always excited to welcome new faces! 🍁
