Bloomberg Public Science Common at Museum of Science Now Open

The William and Charlotte Bloomberg Public Science Common is opening at the Museum of Science on Saturday, October 10, 2026, a groundbreaking new venue for live events, immersive experiences, and world-class speakers designed to bring people closer to discovery. On 10/10, join the Museum of Sciecne for previews at the brand-new Bloomberg Public Science Common. 10/10 SCHEDULE: 10:00 AM - Prehistoric Playground Dig into the deep past: everything we know about dinosaurs comes from a preserved past. Drop in anytime during scheduled hours to explore fossils and piece together what they reveal about the distant past. Then get building: design a dinosaur habitat with lush green for grazing, a safe spot for a nest, or even a muddy swamp to stomp through. Built with our youngest visitors in mind, this space invites curious visitors of every kind. Every explorer is welcome here! 11:00 AM - Science Storytime: Dinosaur Edition Gather together to hear a story and build a habitat for a prehistoric guest as the story unfolds — complete with food, shelter, and a safe place to hide from anything with bigger teeth. At the end of the story, the guest of honor will make a "live" appearance from the prehistoric past (who looks remarkably good for their age)! 1:00 PM Sound Lab Live! Sound is all around us, but the vibrations that create it are invisible. Until now. Sound Lab Live! turns the physics of sound into something you can see, feel, and hear. Large-scale demonstrations, eye-popping digital visualizations, and plenty of audience participation reveal how sound is made, how waves carry energy through the air, and how resonance can produce effects big enough to surprise even the grown-ups. Come ready to listen closely, watch carefully, and maybe even lend a hand (or a voice) to an experiment. It's a joyful, multisensory celebration of sound that's sure to resonate with you. 2:30 PM Robot Roundup Join Museum Educators for a demonstration of modern robotics. Watch robots built by Fauna Robotics, Boston Dynamics, and Unitree show off dance moves, navigate obstacles, and more! Ask our educators your questions about these robots and the science behind them! UPCOMING PROGRAMS From mid-October through November, the launch programming brings an extraordinary lineup to Boston including Trevor Noah, Jacob Collier, Mark Rober, Paralympian Ali Truwit, Pulitzer Prize-winner Siddhartha Mukherjee, and many more.
